O.K, this is the final post, I'd sooner put my opinions to the grownups over at Deep Purple. There have been about three or four people who have said anything whihc is in anyway adult, the rest of you are just winning kids. Indeed, I have in some ways advertised my site, but that's only cos I've got one. If I didn't have I'd still be saying that I'm in a band who can produce music better than Bon Jovi's. I personally don't care whether you people go on or not, it makes for interesting discusion if you did. This idea of rubbishing the site.... come on, are we still at primary school here!!!! You should learn the art of argument, cos then opionions like mine can be cherished, as apposed to dissmised (excluding those who actually did read the posts).

The any instrument was obviously a typo, it should have been "an". But still, you make prejudecies over my playing in the same way you did with the album. Without hearing either, you said I'm crap, and Bon Jovi are great.

Default Drum Samples 'n' stuff !!!

I have to agree with everything you said mate...especially the drum bit, classic rock bands like Def Leppard and Aerosmith seem to have no problem adding the drum sample etc. technology into thier tunes in fact it adds to them but with Bon Jovi it just seems to sound "tacked" onto the side of the song and doesn't seem to fit right.

But as we all know some people on these boards can't see past Jon and can't seem to be objective about these things because in thier eyes Bon Jovi can do no wrong and lets face it they are only human.

Bounce ain't their best work, but it's not the worst. I don't think they do or did crappy records. some were not much inspired (farhenheit, crush), some were bombastic... BJ evolved. I didn't buy the last DEF LEPPARD because I don't like the new orientation, which is far from what I except from the band. so if you don't like what they do now, right, it's your taste, your choice, and buy something else

Bounceiscrap and letitrock, I totally agree with all your posts. Excellent writing, couldn't have said it better myself but I don't understand why you feel the need to educate people on how bad Bounce is. Those of us who don't like it know better than to post our opinions here because we would always get the same responses from those who always love the latest Bon Jovi album out there even if it' not that great.

I myself will not buy the next Bon Jovi album if it is anything like Crush or Bounce. Bounce just isn't the kind of music I would want to listen to. If I could I'd take my copy of Bounce back to the store in a heartbeat. I must admit that the Bon Jovi camp have done an excellent job in convincing people that this is a heavy rock album. Just because a song begins with a few chords using distortion doesn't make it a rock song. Most songs on Bounce are far from being rock. Crush and Bounce are mediocre pop/rock albums and nothing more. It seems that in these times when there is no good music even Bon Jovi can't do something special. I hope this is just a phase.

Bon Jovi's albums all go in pairs. Bon Jovi/7800 Fahnreheit, Slippery/NJ, KTF/These Days and Crush/Bounce. If you take a closer look you will see that each of these pairs represent a certain style of BJ music. With every new pair the style had changed and I believe it will be the same with the album which will be released after Bounce. Some of us don't like Bounce and some do. To each his own. I think it is useless to try and convince each other into believeing something else. If you like it cool and if you don't like it that's cool too.

This paragraph is just for bounceiscrap. I respect your opinion and I agree with you completely but after visiting your site I have to tell you your music isn't as good as you would like it to be. It tries to be 80s rock but you are so caught up in that era that you use unimaginative tunes accompanied with boring guitar and piano riffs which have been recycled so many times they sound worse than all the new pop songs. Just my humble opinion but just because you try to play 80s rock doesn't make it good music. Bon Jovi's music from the 80s and early 90s will always remain popular. It is timeless because it has something special in it. Few individuals have the talent to write great songs. Jon and Richie definitely belong in that group. It is just a waste they don't have the same passion for writing great music as they had before.

bounceiscrap, I agree with some of your points (too short songs, lack of guitar solos), but you've got to understand that it's the year 2002!!! If you, as a musician, come out with anything like In and out of love or Let it rock, people are gonna have a good laugh at you, call you out-of-date and they won't buy your record. Bounce is very far from being a true masterpiece, but it's still a good album - much more versatile than 7800 or Slippery.

Bon Jovi arn't just writing the albums which they are in the mood to do, they are writing albums which will have a mass appeal, which will get them in the charts, and which will mean they can play to 40,000 people at a time.
Well, it would be somewhat pointless spending a year making an album that no one buys. While music is the guys passion, it's also their JOB....and sometimes you just gotta do what you have to to survive in the crazy world we call business.

Damn right. You don't like Bounce. Good for you. You, and everyone else who doesn't like Bounce, go listen to something else, everyone who does like Bounce, we'll go and listen to that. Why do you (mainly talking to bounceiscrap here, but it also applies to just about everyone) feel such a need to change other people's views? You don't have to go around preaching that Bounce sucks......we'll decide for ourselves whether it does or not, thank you very much.

Keep On Rockin'

I think I'm pretty rock and Roll right now!!
I like Bounce so I'll listen to it and I dont give a shit what anybody else thinks!!

sorry I just sometime find people that are timewarped in the 80's funny.
and this is the first time I've heard of a dude my age (17) stuck in the 80's.This is funny.
Speaking from a songwriter in a Rock band myself and I'm sure most that are in a band here(and some that are not) would't it suck really bad If you would write and play the same types of songs over and over again?

yes it would.I'm sure Bon Jovi are expanding their style and making more productive music.Any good songwriter would want their arsenal of songs to be more diverse than Poison's dont ya think?
