Default Bounce - not convincing

I mean what is this record supposed to be:
"To satisfy every fan we put five hard rock songs on the album, one rock ballad and six songs sounding like O-Town." or what?
"Undivided", "everyday", "The Distance", "Bounce", "Hook me up" are really really great hard rock songs and "love me back to life" is a nice ballad. But the other 50% of the record you could leave and don't miss anything: as I said before if I want to hear an O-Town album I'd buy one.
"Open all night", "You had me from hello" can you tell me anything positive about these songs? They are boring, way too soft.....well boygroup songs!
"all about loving you" is a nice tune but compared to "love me back to life" it's nothing.
The only thing that rescues "right side of wrong" is that it's got the only exciting guitar solo on the hole album which leads us to the next negative point: Except the one mentioned above there are no great guitar solos on the hole album.
"Joey" gets on your nerves after a few times.

Bounce - dissapointed again

O-Town... wtf = O-town.. i think that says it all.

Yes there are a couple of well 'boring' songs on it. But hey it's a real BJ record. Everything to keep ALL the fans happy. You and I obviosly like the harder songs, other like the softer ones more.

p.s am i missing something in the world of music.. i've never heard of O-town?

Just your opinion. It seems the majority of the response has been positive. It goes to show that people see things differently. You like Love Me Back to Life and I think that's the least likable song on the CD. So, no, I guess they weren't out to please everyone. They know they can't. However, I think most of the people who have the CD are pleased.

There will always be tracks you don't like, that's life. On the whole Bounce is amazing, nothing against it to say.

I'm not being funny, but looking at your review, maybe Bon jovi isn't for you!
Maybe you should get into another band as your review is very negative.

No no I promise you that Bon Jovi is the right band for me. I love most of their records for life. But my point is that there was supposed to be a real hard rock record and I think this promise is broken because there are as much hard rock as slow songs on the record.

´What I'm really wondering myself is how did it come to that big difference on the album: on the one hand lots of very slow calmed songs and on the other hand this hard rock stuff.
It's not that I say most of the slow songs are really bad but they are, FOR ME, nothing special anymore. When I listen to the charts I can hear songs e.g. like "Right side of wrong" performed by other artists with another title. You understand what I mean? At amazon.de someone wrote that they should change their name into "POP JOVI". When I hear "You had me from hello" or "All about loving you" I understand this opinion. IMO someone who don't know about the big influence of Springsteen to BJ wouldn't understand "Misunderstood". I'm a big Springsteen fan so I like the song but I think the public won't(if it'll be released as a single).

Yes I was really surprised by that one. This was the ballad I was waiting for since "I'll be there for you". I think it's a great hard rock love song. Really a masterpiece.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased too. The hard rock stuff is great, I think "Undivided" and "Bounce" will become classics. But if they left out "Right side of wrong"(would have been a good bonus track), "You had me from hello" and "Open all night" an d replace it by "No regrets", "Breathe" and "Another reason to believe" it probably be the best BJ record ever.

Don#t forget that a lot of people love their slow songs (not incl. me as you know) and they had big success with ballads so they had to put slow songs and ballads on the record.

But you must admit that the rock songs really rock and have some great heavy guitar riffs. I really love them.

yours
Christine

Sure I know, but six on one record. That is a bit too much. I think three or four would have been enough.

Bon Jovi have never been in the 'hard rock' category.

If you like hard rock guitar solo's, you need to buy Steve Vai's, or joe Satriani's albums.

Yes, Bon Jovi used to be hard rock, and yes, I agree with you.
The album is way to shifty.

It would be better if they made up their mind about how it should sound. The previous albums are fantastic, and there is NO song I don't like on any of them (apart from maybe som stuff on crush), but now, I just don't know. The hard songs are almost a bit too hard, and the rest just feels very thin and empty. At least allot of it.

And I do miss guitar solos. Richie is amazing, but here I hardly notice any solos at all.

Bounce - Much of it is great, but I expected more, and there were to much soft songs on it again.
