I've listen to the album many times now, and I think the ballads are surprising better - but still I'd rather have some more rock-songs on it in stead of the ballads....

Bounce is great but Crush wasn´t bad. Crush was just different. Bounce and Crush are two totally different albums. Bounce is Bounce and Crush is Crush.

It seems that I'm in minority because I really liked Crush. For me Crush and New Jersey are the best BJ albums.
About Bounce:

experimental and conventional at the same time

finally someone re-discovered that orchestra fits not only slow ballads but also faster songs (The Distance, Love Me Back To Life)

great lyrics (especially Undivided and Open All Night - this last one honestly shows the process of falling in love)

the album is very short

Richie is in the background, there are very few of his fantastic guitar solos on this CD

the title track is 50 - 60% the same as It's my life

All in all: Bon Jovi have good and perfect albums. Bounce is a good one.
