I don't think they went for the commercial aspect with Bounce like they did with Crush but to be honest - I think I prefer Crush. Bounce may have been an attempt to go back to mainstream rock but if it is, its a pretty tame effort. The album (Undivided excluded) is a below par performance for a reputedly well above par and evidently capable (from their previous work at least!) band. It could have been great rock - instead its a little confused as to what its supposed to be, as are a lot of fans from the sounds of it.

I prefer Crush over Bounce too and I think Bounce did not live up to expectations simply because it was kinda 'rushed' (for lack of a better term). The band took a long time to write Crush but didn't when they wrote Bounce.
I'd still say Bounce is a pretty commercial record. Hell, they have always been commercial. There is nothing wrong with it.
