Default Box Set only for New Fans?

I read an interview in which Jon said that they are releasing the box set for 'new fans who haven't been there in the 80's' and stuff like that. Has anyone else read that same interview? I sure hope they aren't releasing the albums with ,say, only one cd of unreleased songs as a bonus or something... That would suck.

Well if this is true it certainly sounds like the 80's albums. But maybe it means live tracks from the 80's! We just don't know yet. I don't think Bon Jovi will be thinking much about it until the whole Bounce thing has finished!

It's funny because on MTV Germany Jon said it would be for the long-time fans. Not a back-up-catalogue of the old CDs but demos for example.

Are you sure he wasn't referring to the Live album, because they said when that wa released, it was to show the new fans that there was more to the band then just It's My Life?

Jon said during a Crush release press conference a couple years ago we would get to hear Sex Sells either as a b-side or on the box set. Since it wasn't a crush b-side I assume it will be on the box set along with many other unreleased demos. They did 60 demos for Crush alone, we still haven't heard even half of them.

Bon Jovi has always been about the fans. What other band gives you 7 quailty bsides with the release of their new cd? What other artist gives you a steady flow of releases every two years, either by a band release or a solo release. I believe the box set will awesome full of unreleased demos, probably even a couple new studio songs.

It doesn't really make sense to me to make the box set for the new fans. For the most part box sets are only pruchased by the dedicated fans who already have the bands releases.

Here's what Jon said about the boxset on a Canadian TV station in early September. Of course, things may have changed since then.

"We're putting out a boxset which we're pretty excited about. You know, not just a collection of the masters in a box, but, uhm, a sort of a real hardcore fans look inside as to all the songs that don't make records. We're picking the best of, from everything dating back as far as we have in the vaults, uhm, putting together an incredible B-section, a B-Sides collection, a cover selection, insight to incomplete songs and, you know, like really trying to make it a worthwhile trip. It will be the core of the celebration."

If you read it, that's part of the problem! LOL I'm not being sarcastic, I just learned LONG ago that a lot of what you read is total bunk. Jon has said that he wants to make it cool and he wants it to appeal to the long time fans. He also mentioned on Canadian TV last year that he was thinking of writing a book to go in it. I really hope he's had time to do that, but when? Does he not sleep?

He's had a few days off recently (according to daily grind) - He should stop watching American Football & get some work done
