Default Box set production

Do you think the unreleased stuff in the box set needs a production work or would you prefer to have the original but raw versions.
Personally I don't know.
With a good production it would seem to have three new bon jovi cds in one time, but on the other side the songs will loose their original sound and mark. Hard choice....
In the case you think it needs production do you think Obie is the right man or would you choose another one?
Bob Rock......I miss you so much!

Bob Rock is a producer, not someone who mixes the songs technically. He even probably produced songs that will be on the CDs.

I guess Obie will have to rework some songs (technically) to improve the soundquality.

to be honest, sometimes i think i'd prefer the rawe version.

Take "Let's Make It Baby".

I Think a Lot of people preffered the original unpolished version with the extra wah wah guitar.Way superior in my opinion.

The only thing i'm sceptical about is that obviously Jon & Richie wrote those songs as 24/25 year olds.

But as men in their 40s,they might have a different perspective these days of how it MIGHT sound.do ya see what i'm getting at here?

For Example,Say they have the demo made for "Fighter For Love". I'd like to hear it as it is now,in raw demo form untouched for 14 years or so.

What MAY happen is they take a 14 year old demo,& add the newest techniques in recording technology, add a new bassline/guitar/backing vocals parts maybe,to make it worthy of the JOVI sound.

I guess i'm Not too impressed by Obie's production, especially on Live tracks.A Lot of them are weak (some of the KTF Live B-sides,One wild Night),compared to how other producers have captured them in their rawest form live!

I'm sure it'll sound cool,of course,it's just like to hear them from the perspective in which they were written.

they haven't the time to add new basslines and backing vox etc to tracks. can you imagine how long that would take for three albums worth of material? and as for 'let's make it baby', do you mean the talkbox version? if not then give me a shout cos i'd like to heear the wah version.

Let's face it, noone really has a clue how the box set will be produced.
Most of the demo's that will be on it are already mastered demo's from the recording studio anyway and so they wont need anything doing to them!

explain to me how you can 'produce' something that's already being recorded, pressed etc? people are getting production mixed up with mixing and mastering.

Exactly. This is just another post from Donna in which she wants to show that she has heard and knows several things from the boxset and we haven't.

Salaam Aleikum,
