The only thing i'm sceptical about is that obviously Jon & Richie wrote those songs as 24/25 year olds.

But as men in their 40s,they might have a different perspective these days of how it MIGHT sound.do ya see what i'm getting at here?

For Example,Say they have the demo made for "Fighter For Love". I'd like to hear it as it is now,in raw demo form untouched for 14 years or so.

What MAY happen is they take a 14 year old demo,& add the newest techniques in recording technology, add a new bassline/guitar/backing vocals parts maybe,to make it worthy of the JOVI sound.

I guess i'm Not too impressed by Obie's production, especially on Live tracks.A Lot of them are weak (some of the KTF Live B-sides,One wild Night),compared to how other producers have captured them in their rawest form live!

I'm sure it'll sound cool,of course,it's just like to hear them from the perspective in which they were written.

they haven't the time to add new basslines and backing vox etc to tracks. can you imagine how long that would take for three albums worth of material? and as for 'let's make it baby', do you mean the talkbox version? if not then give me a shout cos i'd like to heear the wah version.[/quote]

You’re right guys…
I really don’t know what to expect from these records.
I feel like when I’m waiting for a new album but this is not going to be a new album…. A box set with unreleased material is a product for fans and collectors, it’s not made to sell millions of records
I realize there's no sense in re-arrange the songs with new lines or vocals…make a “new dress” to a 1985 song to make it looking better in 2004 can be negative for the song itself.
Let’s wait and see…and most important…let the music do the talk.

I’m not a fan of Obie’s work too. The sound is too clean and sometimes it seem they’re playing in front of 50 people instead of 50.000.

As evidenced by TLFR. Keep it raw and original please.

I think they should keep the originals too. I dont want everything on the CDs to sound like their recent stuff. If they stick with the originals, we'll be able to see how they've changed through the years

i actually meant the talkbox, but for some strange reason i couldn'tthink of the word. wah wah indeed,my mistake.

you're right of course,we'll have to wait until the thing comes out to make our minds up,but i thought that's what this post was about...

btw i do hope they include some of the early Lance quinn/Anthony Bongiovi stuff..even if jon did fall out with anthony.

there are a few tracks i'm especially interested to hear hopefully

letter to a friend, this ain't a drinking song, maybe the infamous jesus jones remix of KTF (altho a 90's house style mix may sound dated now lol)

course, there's gonna be tons of demos that haven't been mentioned or even heard of before, that's the exciting part!

Hey Lee! long time no speak! Have you ever heard of the demo, "You couldn't live without me, so why aren't you dead"? If anyone knows of it, I'm sure it will be you!

I don't want the real old stuff like demos from Farhenheit to sound like it was done in 2003 but in 85! those songs need to keep the flavor of the time they were recorded.
I hope they'll put "Heart Of America", a song they played at the Farm Aid in 85. not a great great song but I'd like to hear it with a good mix

is it true that the box set is delayed? i've read that somewhere...
it scares me a bit, but maybe they need more time to "fix" the songs?

they have to be on the road for their 20th aniversary!
