Aloha !

It really looks like they're not happy with the current situation and finally take steps like not releasing anything. I'd rather have this then a shitty boxset because a record company forces them to release it.

Sebastiaan

Exactly. If releasing songs such as All About Loving You as singles is another brilliant idea of the record company, it's time for the band to move on.......let's hope.

Sebatiaan, I think it's the other way around. BJ wants to publish it and the record company doesn't. Jon talks about this box set for years and remember that the record company also didn't make double-CDs out of Crossroad and One wild night which the band originally wanted. Multiple CDs are more expensive and the record company probably is afraid of not selling enough copies. They want to sell as many CDs as possible and a box set is only bought by the fans and people who really like the band but not by "ordinary" CD-customers.

Aloha !

Yes, they do want to release it, but not in the format the record company wants it to be, and I do think they finally took the step by not agreeing in their way of thinking.

I'm going with Seb and Christo. It's the BJ way or the highway.

For once I'll agree with Sebastiaan... The record company ran OWN... Look at how shitty that came out....

If they're unhappy at Universal, you've got to think that buying out their contract would have been a better investment than buying a shitty football team.

Why isn't Bon Jovi after 20 years in position to do what they want?

The problem with waiting some time is that it can't really be a 20th anniversary box set. If there are problems with the record company I say instead of making another mess of an album (OWN) wait for 25th anniversary, it's more of a landmark. But then you have the problem of what are they going to do in that time. I'm no expert, but Universal won't want them just sitting down doing nothing.
