No my boss don't want me to do that either...
Too bad, 'cause I'm really good in just sitting down and doing nothing (but still got paid of course)! :P

OK serious now. I don't know what's happening over there, but they have announced a boxset for this year, so they can't postpone it anymore... they just can't do that. It would make them look silly.... don't believe everything what's written. Just wait and see... we can't do anything more than that!

This boxset has been postponed time after time...it would have been released long time ago. I wonder....maybe the recordco. wants them to make selling albums and not stuff they only like themselves( like TLFR)... It`s all about the money

I think jon said something like "if the record company gets it together" he always said stuff like that talking about the record company.

I don't get it could a box set really be such a loss? it cant be that expensive.

for Obie maybe his part is just to put it together the band has to deal with the record company not he.
Box sets would be very expensive to produce. If you remember the record ccompany refused to release New Jersey as a double album because of the expense, so a box set will probably frighten the record company to death!

in which case they can go **** themselves. they've made enough money out of bon jovi, it's time to give something back.

the reason new jersey wasn't a double disk was it was still quite risky back then. bon jovi had one successful album up to that point. they are in a far stronger position to dictate things now.

and then what?

While a contract with a big record company doesn't automatically mean success, a contract with and indie label wouldn't do BJ any good at all. You know how tours are run with independent labels? You know how much money it takes to promote an album and send someone like BJ on tour?

I don't think they have any choice at all. Unless they want to go back to touring in a shitty bus eating crap and play every night.

As silly as publically announcing two new songs on a record and then pulling them off before it's released? If something goes wrong, they probably already have an exucse lined up. The record company, I mean.

I think I said it well over a year ago: leave Universal, start own independent lable and publish records thru Sanctuary or similar, smaller lable.

Many people I've talked to say they should do that, and I'm starting to think so myself. Why do you think they're staying put in Universal? They seem to be getting only the bad things instead of a little bit of both. Jon has said several times that the music industry is quite at fault for the crisis it's in, why not try to get it a little straight by himself then?

Maybe they're too lazy for that, though. A record label of their own would involve loads and loads of work.

What do you think?

Probably a contract. They have to a certain amount of records or pay the companyt to get rid of them.
