Believe me, I am not naive. I didn't say it's not a casino business. I just say that it's no reason to paint things black again, rashly and one-sided.

You know very well what I mean but just took this opportunity to bash me again, and unless you've really got something to add, it's getting worn out by now. Find another hobby.
Why is it always that you add something but others only talk bull.
I only took this opportunity just like you took the opportunity to bash the band again. Now if you tell me you didn't, don't tell me I didn't either.
If you tell me you did, likewise, it's getting worn out. Find another hobby.

So if you disagree with me, which you do as you say yourself that it's no reason to paint things black again, why do you think it's a good thing for the band to do?

Because I gave my opinion about the subject. You just give your opinion about my opinion, which is why you don't add anything to this discussion. Saying that spreading my opinion is getting worn out is just silly, since that is where messageboards are for.

Is the Philly Soul connection something that's being assumed or is it a known fact?

Playing at casinos doesn't have the stigma it used to. In today's market, casinos are THE place to play. They build great concert venues to attract customers and the hotel is right there so it makes it easy for people to travel and stay overnight for the shows. Casinos are taking the place of colisiums and sports arenas which is a good thing given that most hockey arenas aren't built with concert acoustics in mind. I don't see the attraction to gambling, but I'll gladly go to a casino hall built with stage performance in mind to catch a good concert or show. I'd rather go to a casino than an outdoor show and hearing that this one is outdoors makes going to it much less enticing to me.

I neither think it is a particularly good thing nor do I think it is a particularly bad thing. It IS a Bon Jovi concert which quite likely will be part of the promotion for the new album. New album, that sounds good to me. I don't try to make out each and every hidden agenda behind an anniversary performance.
Assumptively, Jon solely wants to gain a new sponsor, well, I will congratulate him if he succeeds.
It is quite clear to me that someone, who thinks a multi million dollar business is an easy trick just because the owner doesn't need a credit to start out, won't accept let alone understand that said owner turns his popular band to good account.

You have a point here. But also, message boards are not only there to throw in opinions but to inter- and react. It would be plain boring if everybody only states his/her opinion. It becomes interestin when opinions are questioned, explained and talked about. Therefore an opinion about an opinion can add just as much.

Once again, learn to read, I didn't say that spreading your opinion is getting worn out, I said you bashing the band once again is.
In saying so, I added perfectly well what I was trying to add to this discussion.

I don't think this show is a promo show... or at least n ot the OFFICIAL first one ... because the whole thing does sound like it's a HARD ROCK HOTEL AND CASINO thing and not a BON JOVI gig as for now the fc hasn't move for it and the AXP won't be involved neither .. it means (so far) no privilige for the jovi fans.. if it was an offcial promo it would be announced as such and would somehow would give the fans some advantages like they have always did until now ... I do think we are jumping a lil bit too fast on conclusion about this being a real jovi show or even a promo show .. it does sounds to me a anniversary event that will have bon jovi as guest ....

I don't say it's an official promo event. But if the album is released around that time it will quite likely function as such, equal whether it carries the subhead initially.
Further on, isn't it way more in the sense of a "promotion" when Fanclub, AXP and so on members do NOT get any advantage? They don't need too much promotion, they'll buy it anyway.
I'm trying to say that, to me, promotion aims at non-BJ fans, people that don't know that there's a new album coming out. Pre-ordering tickets or Fanclub offerings do not classify a promotion event unequivocally.

OK ... you made a good point .. burt for shepperds bush zepp tokyo and all it was with fan club tickets and it was mainly done for the fans .... the radio promo and tv were done for the more large audience but the first promo shows were done for the fans and only for the fans with fc arrangements

but at the end of the day all this is just assumption as long as we don't get more info ...

Yeah, I understood what you were saying. It might not be a typical or official promotion event, yet it could quite easily work as such. Agreed?

I think it's very easy to see that it's a promotional event.
Don't understand all the hassle.

If Jon wants to combine a promo event with money instead of just promoting the album I don't want this to succeed. He should keep the 2 things apart from eachother. Trying to make money with everything he does so he can keep the Soul running makes the band just a tool to cash in. Automatic pilot and off we go. We'll play 2 hours and earn a lot. That's not the right way to promote an album I think.

But your opinion isn't about my opinion. It's just another reply about me bashing the band. You don't really talk about my opinion, but you talk about the way I treat the band and all that, with the exception from above in which you explain why you disagree with me.

So because I bash the band it's getting worn out? That's saying spreading my opinion is getting worn out to me, because it's obvious that I'm giving my opinion about what this band does. Just because it's negative each time doesn't mean I should stop it.
