Superbowl half time show
Bruce has already performed at Superbowl
while Bon Jovi is in disarray as Richie Sambora
has quit the band as per the article

Who is Bruno Mars and how in the hell does he get to play the Half-Time show?

He's a pop singer with lots of number 1 hits. You don't have to be irrelevant washed out has beens living on former glory and playing with half of a band to play the superbowl.

You can be relevant and have current number 1 hits as well.

I think the Jon Bon Bon once mentioned he picked up the new Bruno Mars album. He knows what he's up against.

I like Bruno but don't think he's the right choice for the Super Bowl halftime show. I want it to be Bon Jovi!!

would rather springsteen do it if a richie less bon jovi doesnt do it. i like bruno mars but he wouldnt be on my list of possibilities for doing the half time show.

Besides Jon pretty much never being a great advertisement for their performances whenever they're broadcast live (Yeah, Sandy was the exception), I'd say them not doing the Superbowl in their home state kind of shows how irrelevant they really are when an act like Bruno Mars is doing it. As soon as the word is out I expect a bullshit excuse from Jon though.

I'm amazed how many hits Bruno has racked up in such a short amount of time. If they're goal is to pick a current top artist, which it seems to be, then he's certainly a fine choice. Sure, it'd be neat to see BJ do it, but not w/o Richie. And we all know they'd play IML/WSYCGO/WDOA/LOAP. Maybe Runaway and/or Bad Name might make an appearance, but that'd likely be it.

plus his Australia tour starts few days after Superbowl
so probably was not available even if NFL wanted him to perform again
