I think everyone knows about my Undying Hatred for These Days.... Although there is 2 songs on it I really like... Something For The Pain and Something To Believe In.

You just don't get it, and won't be able to get it.

I really love this record but it took some time for me to get into it. I think maybe it was just so different than what I had come to expect from BJ. But over the years it has definitely grown on me. It will never be my absolute favorite, I'm not sure with Bj that I have one, since there are things about every album that I really love (exception 7800).
I really love Lie to me, Something to Believe in, this ain't a love song and These Days. I do have to be in the mood for this style of song to listen to it though.
I'm not sure it's their best record, maybe their most creative record, one on which they really experimented with things. I've always thought this record was one that they did purely for the joy of writing songs and making music together.

same here. It didn't make me a fan, but it had me come back to BJ. I didn't even buy KTF until after TD. I think all songs have depth and meaning unlike anything they've done before and somehow they seemed to have 'arrived'. Anything after that is 'whatever' - could have been done anytime, anywhere by anybody.

I feel it somehow made the band complete following the preceding 5 albums, as if they had exploited every line of inspiration they could have as a band.

With what they've done since, which wasn't always crap but always had a "wannabe" feeling in my ears, I'm beginning to think they should have split after the TD tour and work on their solo careers,
Totally agree!!!

These Days is the worst of the good albums.

as has been stated liking an album is subjective. Its all about opinion isnt it??

I adore "These Days" yep its one of my favourite albums of theirs. IMHO its got depth and meaning and I personally connect to it.

Thus thats why I would defend it.. for the simple reason I think its a great album.

I dont know what your point is?? you want everyone to suddenly see the light and think its crap??? Its just like some people love bounce or crush etc and I dont think they are their best works. I mean how dare those people like those albums.

I dont think the song HAND is that special but alot of people think its the greatest thing ever. How dare they and how dare I. We should all rescind our fanship to BJ.

so ultimately you cleared nothing up as such.. just stated you didnt like that people liked "these days"

I remember not being that impressed with TD when it was released basically cos it was so different from their other albums. But within weeks all the songs grew on me and I couldnt stop listening to it. It has just the right mix of up tempos and ballads and its an album I always come back to. Im really glad they did this I just wish theyd play more songs from it!!!

Even though These Days isn't my fav album there is only 1 song I never play and that is Diamond Ring. There are some beauties on it, I never get tired of listening to Something to Believe In, Something For The Pain,Damned or This Ain't A Love Song.
This album is a heck of a lot better than some which I don't have to name of course in my opinion

I didnt really have a point and I dont think its crap as I've said.

The reason I started this thread is that I noticed from my short time here that TD is by far the most referenced album. I was just curious why that was. I didnt expect the "stuck up your own ass" comments. That was just a bonus.
