I like the song but it's overplayed live. Time to put it back on the shelf for 2 tours and then pull it out again.

of everyone that;'s saying it's overplayed live, how many gigs do you actually see per tour?

for the vast majority it's 1... you hear it one time per tour...

and it is a great song. it's probably the most hooks they've ever managed to fit into a tune.

How can anyone say it's a great song?? C'mon, this is Bon Jovi...and you think Capt.Crash is a great song? Each to their own and all, but I'm suprised anyone is saying it's great. It may be catchy, but where is it great?

sometimes being catchy is good enough.

i'd rather hear it than bad medicine or sleep when i'm dead again.

neither of those are great and neither are anywhere near as catchy as captain crash.

No they wouldn't. There's a reason why Bad Medicine has become such a big hit and Crash was never released as a single.

I disagree. I think Bad Medicine is a much better song -- and an example that a song doesn't have to be "deep" to be good. I certainly don't think it's the best Jovi song ever, but imo, Crash isn't close to it. And Sleep has turned into a really fun part of the live show not only because of the change-ups with the medley, but also because of the energy and excitement the band is putting into Sleep itself these days. They seem to really enjoy Sleep while they just do Crash. I'll take the former any day.

Like I said, each to their own. But I very much disagree. Bad Medicine was/is a huge song. And as Seb said, there is a reason for that. Maybe Capt.Crash would stick with a certain kind of group of people. But as a song that actually has any talent, I would hope to God BM would stick with more people! I think Capt.Crash shows absolutely none of Jovi's talent. And what's the point in that? That's where I think they go wrong at times. Trying to appeal to more people, and in doing so coming out with songs such as Capt.Crash. It's catchy, but it's not talented at all. Why compromise your talent, for something that may reach a more...modern-type audience? I may love it live, I donnot know. And once in a blue moon, I will put it on, and tap my foot a bit. But like I said - as far as a great song in general...there's no way I could describe this song as that, personally.
