I kinda like their new album. They are a good band and are doing well in America. I much prefer listening to their songs on the radio over Oasis and the new indie crap that's going on over in the UK right now!

I'm in no way a fan of Coldplay, just not my cup of tea, but in fairness to Chris and the rest of them, they do what they do very well and he is a good songwriter so, respect for that.

The only song of their's I actually like is Speed of Sound.

One mans meat is another mans poison. I find him boring and just think he's overated big time, but then I guess there are people that would say the same about Mark Knopfler when he's probably my favourate musician.

I am wondering...do people over there go to see the venue instead of a band? geez. I am used to going to see the bands I like without paying much attention to venues they play at.

It isn't about the venue as much as it is about the sound quality. Giants Stadium, for example, is terrible when it comes to hearing the music because it is outside. It is quite muffled at times. The acoustics are much better in an indoor arena, like Madison Square Garden.

Obviously, but what you sacrifice in sound you more then make up for in atmosphere and spectacle. I think the venue dose play a part, depending on the artist. I'd go see Bon Jovi if they played off the back of a truck but for an artist that I wouldn't feel all that strongly about, the venue would be a big part in my decision to go. If they played some shitty stadium, then no, if they played somewhere incredible and famous, then probably.

Yes, Stone, people go to see the venue - weird Americans - you know the type. :P

The venue they are playing here is sooo far out that it takes about 2 hours to get there (assuming you live in civilization) - the venue itself is pretty new and great, but then the 'getting out of the parking lot' is an unbelievable endevour. I swear it takes AT LEAST one hour before you get to exit the parking lot - sitting in your car, waiting to file out.

It's insane and for me, only worth it if I REALLY want to see a band.

I've been to that venue often enough and it is always the same pain to get there and get out - so I am not putting up with it during the week. If Coldplay played on the weekend, I'd put up with it - Wednesday night - not so much.

Hope that explains it

Actually, convenience is big factor in the whole concert experience. Concerrts in the north or south are by and large not as popular as concerts in the city - just because people don't want to drive out of their comfort zone, I guess. I know a lot of people that will never go to shows unless they are IN Seattle - no matter who is playing.
