Default Christmas Album

Okay, I know it would be really "uncool" if Bon Jovi released a Christmas album, but I wish they would anyway. It would be great if they gave us a pristine recording of the Christmas songs they did at Count Basie years ago. I'd especially love to hear a proper recording of Silent Night.

Not that it'll happen, but just for fun, if it did, what one Christmas song would you want them to include?

Speaking of Xmas songs, I do actually LOVE 'I Wish Every Day Could Be Like Christmas', even tho it's the epitome of cheese and so on. Tbh, the song makes me feel good, I remember it being included in an 'Absolute Xmas' cd here in Sweden in the late 90s, and it was right after I'd fallen in love with Jovi, so I did not mind at all.

I dont think it would be the best move by the band to release a Christmas album but I wouldnt be against it. Perhaps like a Christmas EP with 5-7 songs on it. Or even just a one off Christmas single like their Please Come Home For Christmas single.

Nah, they should take advantage of the social media and release a compilation of christmas songs and make it available on their site. That way the fans would get those recordings in good quality and they wouldn't have to go through the hassle of promoting it and what not. But then that would mean someone in the Bon Jovi camp knowing how to take advantage and use the net properly which won't happen, we'll probably be swamped by emails selling us Bon Jovi santa hats though

Which, if you think about it, is WAY more uncool than a Christmas CD would be.

Exactly! It doesn't need to be on the shelf at Target... them wearing Santa and elf outfits, titled, "12 Christmas tracks can't be wrong"

I think a digital EP would be great. Record 4 or 5 Christmas songs, write one new one, and 2 or 3 live recordings would be awesome.

And to answer the original question, "O Holy Night" (think Hallelujah, just more dynamic) could be really good, but if they wanted to cover Tom Petty or John Lennon, I wouldn't complain.

If you throw in Richie's songs (including the Duet with Evert Bradley), you can make your own compilation of about 10 studio/live pro tracks (Jon/Richie/Band). I include Hallelujah on mine as well.

But yes, I agree that getting the Red Bank songs in pro would be awesome (Drummer Boy, Silent Night, Run Rudolph Run). Unfortunately, I doubt that will ever happen. I'm not sure they even have them somewhere within "The Vault". The Drummer Boy recording wouldn't be too bad if someone could take the high pitched screaming fans out of it. You would think with today's technology, someone could clean that up. My recording of Silent Night never sounded right. It sounds slowed down.

I also agree that they are due for a new song or two. I believe the last Pro we got was Santa Claus is Coming to Town / Run Rudolph Run in '07 and before that it was Run Rudolph Run in '05.

Jon is doing The Hope Concert again with Bruce and others, we'll see if something new comes out. I doubt that too. He'll probably do Blue Christmas and Run Rudolph Run, Again!

Christmas Songs
1 - Please Come Home For Christmas - Jon
2 - O Come All Ye Faithful - Richie
3 - Blue Christmas (live)- Jon
4 - I Wish Every Day Could Be Like Christmas - Bon Jovi
5 - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)(live)- Jon
6 - Cantique De Noel (O Holy Night)- Richie
7 - Back Door Santa - Bon Jovi
8 - Funky Santa - Richie Duet with Evert Bradley
9 - Hallelujah - Bon Jovi
10 - Run Run Rudolph '05 - Bon Jovi
11 - Santa Claus is Coming to Town / Run Rudolph Run in '07 - Bon Jovi
12 - R2D2 We Wish You a Merry Christmas - Jon

Live:
Red Bank
13 - Silent Night
14 - Little Drummer Boy
15 - Run Run Rudolph
16 - I Wish Every Day Could Be Like Christmas
17 - Please Come Home For Christmas
18 - The Hanukkah Song (live)- David
Studio
19 - Please Come Home For Christmas (Live)- Jon
