CLASSIC Rock Awards? I don't think BJ would be too thrilled about that. I remember a TV interview where Jon said someone suggested they stop wasting time and money on new albums because they were too old to get commercial airplay, and devote themselves to "the nostalgia circuit." He gave the impression that his response had been negative (and hopefully, it was also not particularly polite).

As for the nominees, the list is a little strange: It makes sense to pit Aerosmith, AC/DC, Kiss, and Jeff Beck against each other, but Bon Jovi and Rage Against the Machine come out of right field, while Slash is coming from another planet!

And speaking of Aerosmith, Jon and Richie asked if Steve Tyler could do guest vocals on Love Is a Social Disease. Aerosmith's record label rep liked the song so much, he asked if Aerosmith could record it in its entirety. I would have said yes -- being able to brag of giving a song to Aerosmith would have given those "rookie" songwriters a HUGE career boost -- and maybe even an opening slot on their tour!

I hope KISS win, they deserve it the most and they have had the most influence on others out of all the bands full stop.

yeh there money people, but if you got it why dont you flaunt it?

they give back to the fans and take note, fair enough it comes at a price but jovi at the 02 was hardly worth the money.

Voted. I also voted for American Slang, like you suggested. It's an absolutely brilliant album.
