A friend at work told me what happened and I freaked out. On the way home I picked up a free newspaper in which there is a picture of Jon on the plane with a phone in his hand and the caption reads "Jon Bon Jovi rings friends to tell them about the Qantas engine failure". The incident was also mentioned on Channel 9 news in Melbourne

I just read about this five minutes ago, and I still have cold chills running down my spine. Thank god nothing serious happened!!! But I guess it's just something that happens every now and then, especially when you travel a lot. Still, to think what could've happened... Scary!

I don't know of the rest of you guys have noticed this, but there seems to be a pattern in this post according to gender.......let me explain.........a typical female reply to this topic appears to be:

Oh my god!! I can't belive that happened. I heard it earlier today and my heart stopped, I couldn't breathed then I died and turned into a monkey!!! (Maybe a little exaggerated!)

Whereas a typical male reply appears to be:

Bah, its only an engine failure, happens all the time!!

Ain't that funny, just goes to show how much men don't really give a shit!! Funny that!!

Good to see the guys are ok though.

You are so right- my husband is an electrical engineer and flies often for business. Stuff like this has happened to him and he has taken it in stride. I bet the guys did too- more of an annoyance. And yes, I will admit to being emotional about the whole thing my husband has been laughing at me which doesn't help.

It's again a proove that all can stop suddenly, it's scarry, and we all have history in our proper life of the pain it is to lose someone. I don't want to even think about it.

Do you think that if he died, any would play a tribute concert in his honour like some bands did for Freddie?
