Yeah the mistress is his rock n roll touring lifestyle. Thats why it calls him to stand in the spotlight again.

I dont think its a cheating confession just a song about how he was feeling at the time with touring and being away from his family and wife.

I've also read that too - that the song is actually about his relationship with the rock n roll lifestyle.
