Default Contraversial Topic (but just for fun)

Hey there,
I was rereading some old topics and saw a couple of contraversial topics, so I thought I'd write one (for fun).

Before I start, I am a huge Bon Jovi fan, and always will be, and am doing this for fun, so don't take this seriously.

Anyway, here goes:

A lot of the interviews with Jon these days seem to mention that he is a 'family man' now. Whereas before he'd tour non stop, or if he did it was to record a albumn and then back on the road, now he puts a lot of emphasis on his family.

Now, I do some political science classes and a lot of psychology classes at university, and thought about this.

If for example a politican was to do this, what would you think? Maybe, he is near the end of his term and it doesn't look like he will be re elected, therefore he invests his energy in to something else.

Or, maybe there is a scandal, he is trying to divert our attention from it, or make it look like he has a good character so if the scandal did come out, it won't be as bad.

Now, I think that 'Bounce' is a great albumn, but record sales don't seem to show this. Also chart positions for 'Everyday' and 'Misunderstood" aren't very good either.

A lot of poeple are saying "wait for the tour" hoping that the tour will sell more albumns, maybe it will, or maybe, bon jovi reached his peak, and his 'time' is coming to an end?

Also being a celebrity, living your life is hard to keep private, and maybe someone, somewhere could get a incriminating photo (not saying that Jon is doing bad stuff all the time) but it can happen. No one is a saint and tabloid newspapers will publish anything to get sales.

So this could be a potential scandal.

Then again, it could be none of this, and Jon is genuinely spending more time with his family cos he wants to.

Anyway, I better go now, lots to do, lol. Let me know what you think, or if you have any theories.

See ya soon

I think sometimes JON is doing things a lil bit like a politician do to be politically correct ... it's a change on his rock star image but I think that BJ has enough ennemies (that's too bad but that's also true) if JON really had something to hide eh eh eh it would be known and shown by the people who don't like him at all if you know what I mean .....
He is a family man now more than before maybe and he wants to show this part of his personnality now more than before ...that's maybe because now he is 40 and not 20 or 30 anymore ...
I thought many times too that public people have a hard time to stay away from the tabloids but I DO think that he just doesn't have the "wild or not correct" image that stuck to him as a hair band frontman anymore ....

"i think he does it because he wants to be with his family more."

This could explain Crush and Bounce. Sorry, but neither CD was what I was expecting from Bon Jovi. Seems that with all this family time, the new music isn't getting the attention it needs.
Anybody have the Creed CD? Boy, was that surprising! The two songs you hear on the radio are the slowest ones on the CD. Truly a great album!

I personally think that Jon spends time with his family more now than every before because that is something he wants to do, not because there could a "potential" scandal on the horizon or anything else. A person has got to make time for his family or lets face there wouldnt be a family there to care for, and that aint just for people in the limelight, that goes for everyone.

I think Jon has always been a family man- I remember him talking about his wife and kids on Behind The Music. I think that has been his image since he has had kids. I think it may be played up more to appeal to what has become the core audience in USA which is women between the ages of 25-40. I also think he really is a family man. And maybe it is to help the chart position of Misunderstood, a song about his marriage. Jon is no saint but he and Dot seem to have a good thing going- I really prefer not to look into it any further than that in terms of "scandal" because the man is not running for office . I have enough to worry about so it makes me feel happy to think Jon is a great family guy unless I am presented with evidence otherwise, but I am not looking for it. Same with the rest of the guys btw- hope they all are happy with their wives and kids too. Also John Mayer pointed out how Jon seemed like a family guy on a weekend gig so it's not all spin- don't think he is on the payroll. Since I didn't become a fanatic until Crush the home grown CD's are alright with me. Not much of a fan of Pearl Jam light- all Creed songs all sound the same to me and from what I have heard their live show is nothing like a Jovi show. I own Weathered but gave it to my 14 year old who is pretty bored with it too. But to each their own- they seem like nice enough guys and Scott Sapp is a family guy too.

Creed actually put on a great live show, although it's not quite as good as a Jovi show, which is the best I've seen to date.

That's good to hear. I know someone over at Backstage had posted a pretty disappointing review so it is good to hear you enjoyed it.

Yes. I took the advice of my Creed obsessed roommate and it turned out to be a waste of money. It's been under the seat of my car for a few months now. I forgot I even had it.

Maybe Jon is more aware of how much time he spends with his family because Steph and Jesse are getting older and he doesn't want them to think that he considered music and touring more important than them.

We like what we like I guess. As long as we can express it without putting others' tastes in music down. And while most of my Bon Jovi CDs are treasured, my Bounce CD is where your Creed CD is, under the seat and easily forgotten.
