Nor am I a housewife - I'm a structural engineer who likes Bon Jovi. Let's quit putting women down.

Agreed. I'm not a housewife, either; I'm a library worker and freelance writer with no children.

The 'housewife' thing is perpetuated in the press, too, when it comes to Bon Jovi, and it's used in a way to basically say, "They're not respected as a rock band because their fan base is largely female, and females don't like 'real' rock music."

The key word was "desperate". Not housewives.

My point remains. I've seen housewives put down on this board for years.

And don't forget, most of these housewives were probably single young ladies when they first became fans. They just grew up, lived their lives and stayed faithful to the band of their youth. But any review of BJ music or concerts that references housewives, you know it's implied as a slam on the band and that's just sad.

I've been saying the exact same thing ever since I first heard WAN....

Agreed. I don't think it affects sales in any way, but I think Jon short changes himself when he kept saying that it had to be released right now (then) to be relevant in the "post-first term Obama" world. If anything, you should strive for the songs to be timeless.

I agree and I think that's where The Circle failed and it's one reason it's my least favorite album. It didn't stand the test of time for me.

It would've fared much better if it weren't such a mediocre record.

"Army of One" wouldn't have helped them because it would've further accentuated the idea that Bon Jovi is a one man show. I think the best name for the album would've been "Because We Can". Although if it was billed as their final record, "What's Left of Me" would've fit.

Seriously Kathleen? With all this limited band interaction on the album and Jon solo talk, you think that would work as a title.

Its comments like this that makes me think that I'm the smartest fan here
