Whoops, misunderstood that completely then, that's far worse.

Well to me the one that's "acting stupid", not understanding that what was paid 2012 and that Pandora isn't by near the most used service, is you. I already putted numbers of how they're payed these days on Spotify, for example (Apple Music pays more).

Acting like a 12 year old is not understanding that everyone needs to agree with you and insulting them. I don't expect to convince you, I just wanted to stand my point.

Also, do you think that Child, Richie and Jon do individual contracts with the services? And that they get payed together? That's all managed by the label, the label gets payed, then they get the share. Chances are that his accountant told him "lol you have been payed x for this" and he just started to talk about it.

There's no point in discussing this though, it's more subjective than anything.

There's nothing subjective about somebody getting rich off of an artist's work when that 'somebody' isn't the artist in question. This isn't about asking you or I to pay more, it's about highlighting how streaming services are money-grubbing b*stards who are inciting a 'race to the bottom' mentality whilst everyone else goes, 'Hey, it's costing me pennies, who cares?'

I guess you're talking about labels that keep a 50% share of everything that Spotify and other services pay, right? Because I doubt that a company that has their losses growing up faster that revenues, and that pays 70% of their earnings numbers in red are "money-grubbing b*stards" that "are getting rich off on an artist's work".

You can say that Spotify is killing the music industry all you want, but somehow labels have every time more earnings and the business still makes giant artists with giant revenues. The industry is changing because the world has changed. You can't compare streams to buys as you can't compare the dynamics of today's world to the ones back in the '90s.

People that "streaming is killing music" this are forgetting not only everything I said on my post over this one but that the average Spotify user spends more more than twice in music than the average american, and that's considering that they only pay Spotify and not spend an extra penny on anything else (which is pretty absurd); also, they seem to forget that streaming provides payments in a extended amount of time rather than only a single one.

And yes, facts are objective, but the interpretation you give to these and the opinion you create is purely subjective. Your post is a purely subjective one (with zero facts) as most of this one of mine is. You see all of this information and you come to the conclusion that "streaming services are greedy and need to pay more", I come to the conclusion that labels are and that, considering that every artist could produce and record an album, they should try to get rid of them or renegotiate their contracts and get only distribution deals as lots of artists are doing right now. So, yes, there's no point on discussing opinions, I'm done. Only time will tell who was or is right.
