I think the critics are biased AGAINST the guys for the most part. But then again most of the best things are what critics don't like. I used to get REAL angry about this then I thought..they are selling out shows all over the world, buying football teams, hotels, making movies and TV shows..hell the guys are lauging all the way to the bank. If the critics like them and mainstream media supported them we'd be paying more to see them, more people to get in our way at concerts

So now I just enjoy what they guys give me and ignore the critics and media that pick who they tell you that you should like

It all comes down to simply your own opinion. If you didn't like a song or an album and agreed with the critics then you would feel that their criticism was merited. If you disagreed with them you would feel that they were being hard on the guys. Everyone has their own opinions regarding music whether it be Bon Jovi or some other group but unfortunately the critics get to put their's in print. A lot of people in the world listen to them and step away from some really great music because they seem to think that these critics know more about it when it's just someone's opinion. What I was saying in my post is that I don't listen to critics at all and tend to make up my own mind on things so what they say doesn't mean anything to me. Just would wish they would give Bon Jovi some slack, really listen to the music and get over the hair-band thing!

Agree with you there! That's what really matters!

I dont listhen to them. They can say and think wot they like, noone can make my mind up for me. They deffiently conentrate on the guys clothes, hair ect more then wot they should. But does it really matter wot other people say? There are so many people that do loce them. And they are getting paid for their opinions and i wouldnt mind getting paid for that would you! But i think they are abit unfair cos they dont concentrate on the music enough.

Very few critics have given Bon Jovi a fair shake. Most of them give lousy reviews and all they concentrate on is their appearance. They are supposed to be MUSIC critics, not FASHION critics! It annoys me to no end when critics refer to Jon or Richie's "big hair". They haven't had big hair in years! Get over it!

Unfortunately, if they haven't gotten fair treatment from the critics by now, they never will.

I have never taken to heart anything the critics say about the band's talents and efforts. I usually end up liking the movies or music that the critics hate anyway. When it comes down to it, they are just stating their opinions, just like we do. Difference is, they are getting paid to say it to a bigger audience.

KTF!

I don't think you can lump all critics into one group. Some of the criticisms are warranted (like too many fluffy formula ballads on Bounce), but some of them are biased and it comes through (like one that went on about "I Got the Girl" and how of course JBJ would get the girl. You know they didn't listen to the song at all).

Personally, I've never bought or not bought a CD based on what a critic says. I buy things I like on the radio or products of acts I know and like. I'm more likely to be influenced by movie or book critics.

Just founded this: "Criticism is a charming little game, no more, and some people do like to play".
