What is a "cup of joe"? Is it the same as a cup of coffee?

I always thought it was a hat.

In the first place, I thought of a hat, too. But since my initial impression, I´ve always thought it´s a cup. The image is quite distorted though, made in a time when Photoshop didn´t exist.

it never occured to me that it could be anything else than a cup.
i mean, the front cover of the cd shows the band sitting in a cafe! so why would the picture on the cd itself be a hat? come on, people

You are right. But in the first place, I thought of that huge hat Jon sometimes had on stage on the NJ tour (at least during the first few lines of LYHOM until it dropped off).
