At the time, the format for a band like Bon Jovi was still that the first single was generally upbeat, then you went for the radio pop/rock tune, then the ballad.
There's five "rocking" tracks on the album: Undivided, Everyday, The Distance (questionable heaviness...), Hook Me Up and Bounce
I like Bounce, the song, the best out of these, BY FAR, but I don't think it has any crossover potential. Maybe The Distance could have worked in the US? Hook Me Up is a great album track but not a radio track.
If I could go with any song, honestly, Misunderstood is easily the best choice for a single.
