In my own experience, I ran into David the day after the 2 Dublin shows last tour, in the airport. He was standing around just waiting, and there wasn't a soul around. My mom, my sister and I (all wearing Bon Jovi shirts so obviously we were at the concerts) noticed and said "Hi David!" and he waved his hand at us to shoo us away and went out of his way to run into an elevator.
Well that tells me, it has nothing to do with Jon or the band but just David is a dickhead to fans.

Well he certainly wasn't a dickhead to me. As I wrote a few posts back he was a gracious and nice as he could be.

Yeah but you approached him not as a Bon Jovi fan who doesn't care about his solo work. You got on his good side before even saying you were a BJ fan.

The stories of people here that met him as BJ fans meeting the keyboard player are quite different.

Possible, you may be right. Also he would have know that we were theater supporters since we were at that show.

All these guys should know better than be a dick to the fans though. It comes with the territory of being a rock star.

I met David in London in 2010, and he was very nice and took the time to have pictures with myself, my wife and family, he was also happy to sign some cd's etc. in fact the whole band were happy to have pictures and sign stuff. We saw Jon the same day with his wife and kids, as he was with his family we just stood back and didn't say anything, but he came over to us and said hi, I think he appreciated that we hadn't ran over to him shoving cd's in his face.

Aloha !

All this talk in regards to David being a prick to meet up are bollocks really. I've had people coming up to me at concerts because (I kid you not) "I am Supersonic of Jovitalk". Do you think I've felt like talking to each and everyone of you every time? Nope, but walking away would've caused a shitstorm on Jovitalk the next day, with people saying I'm a prick. It's why after all this time my reputation is still as squeeky clean as it is, and I am still loved by everyone.

Oh, and in regards to Jon and David's relationship; who doesn't disagree with the decision their bosses make every now and then? Bringing up "how they went on holiday together 25 years ago" makes no sense to me. Dynamics between band members change, but if it'd been too horrible to deal with I'm sure David would've walked rather sooner than later. Who knows what's being said between them after Jon or David has said something in the press either party disagrees with?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I met David while at Memphis on Broadway and he was really REALLY nice. I named my show dog after the play and he was really excited, thought it was cool. I even keep the producers updated on him and his career at their request.

I grew up living next door to one of the biggest names in Country music (Merle Haggard) and I can tell you that fans are draining and they are just normal people wanting to be treated normal. He loved our small town because no one gave a crap who he was - he could even shop in the grocery store without anyone giving him a glance.

That's a cool story. I live down the street from the singer of Linkin Park, and he's really cool about fans and meeting people and stuff. I've never personally met him (though I pass by his house frequently) but a lot of stores in the area have framed pictures of employees with him up on the wall, from what I understand he's a really nice guy and always takes time to talk to people. His son, though, was in my friend's school last year and I hear he's a total douche.
