Yeah - Sort it out Bounce02 - U only use the numeric '2' if it is over a certain amount. In 'proper' English the correct spelling should have been Two (As the Goose Says). Not 2 or to.

It's like saying Black and Red look the same. The issue of someone dismissing them as "all sounding the same" is like someone here saying "oh Bon Jovi's albums all sound the same..just like Slippery When Wet." It's ridiculously ignorant and would cause anyone who actually does know about either band to get into a hissy fit. I could understand if you were refering to ADRENALIZE or Euphoria because both albums recall past sounds and songs.

You don't have to listen to them anymore, but to say Pyromania and Hysteria sound alike when there was a complete uproar about the change in their sound at the time is silly. He makes some good points about the kinds of ignorance regarding Bon Jovi that goes on over at Def Leppard boards. I think what he is trying to get at is he'd like to see less stupidity over here that mirrors what goes on at Def Leppard boards and more educated statements. Be the better group of fans. You don't have to like the band...but get it right (it's not Adrenalized.) Anyway, I'm not being insulting. You're alright in my book. I'm just trying to referee a little. I personally would rather fight fire with water instead of fire when it comes to arguing the two bands against each other.
This person deserves a beer! He said everything that I wanted to say without cherries If one owns High N Dry and Adrenalize, as long as the person is not deaf, he/she will be able to tell that musically they are totally different. When one can't really distinguish the difference between Pyro and Hysteria OR Slippery and New Jersey, I can let this pass, maybe the person is just a casual fan. But the difference between HnD and Adrenalize or Old Skool Aerosmith and New Skool Aerosmith is like the difference between 7800 Fahrenheit and These Days - even casual fans will be able to tell that the albums are different.

I think "Pour Some Sugar On Me" is a huge rock anthem worldwide. Probably their biggest hit.

I think the only similiarity between the two bands is their gift of melody and power hooks. Their vocal arrangements are very different. Def Leppard uses more of a choir-type of sound in their choruses/bridges. Bon Jovi is more stripped down that way.

And the sound of a Mutt Lange song is very distinguishable, at least to the rock fan. That's why I never thought they and Bon Jovi were alike. Listen to an album like "Waking Up The Neighbours" by Bryan Adams and then you can hear the similarity to Lep there. It's all about Mutt folks.

The instrumental approach, song writing, and even the actual singing of the background vocals differ. The influences behind the two bands music differs quite a bit (Queen, Glam-Rock for Def Leppard; Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, Beatles for Bon Jovi.) True, members of Def Leppard do boast that Bon Jovi simply copied what they did. However, despite Joe Elliot's claim that Living on a Prayer is a Def Leppard rip off, I'd say they are claiming more credit than is due. One only needs to TRULY listen with their ears.
EXACTLY what I was trying to say, but put better.

And Jon supposedly called Belinda Carlisle's song "Heaven Is A Place On Earth" a rip-off of "Prayer". Now THAT I can hear.

Just a note: I don't think Mutt produced or wrote the new Lep album "X". They still sound the same to me though as on previous albums, at least the hooks and whatnot. Sound is slightly different though.
