That was more of a monologue...

And they do what they want to do. Nothing we say is gonna change it, so why waste your breath? I like Slippery, I like New Jersey. I don't like These Days as an album. Too dark, too gloomy, too boring. Wild In The Streets over My Guitar any day.

i like TD mainly from a nostalgic point of view in that it was the first BJ album that was realised whilst I was already a fan of them.

As a "rock" album, of course I prefer the first 4 or 5 - though songs such as Hey God and Damned do stand out for me...

I think it was good for the band to do at least one dark album though - the first 4 albums (mainly 3rd and 4th) were optomistic albums but they were done in quite a sophisticated manner i think

I am fed up with the 'live life to the full' cliched message in BJ songs. I want some realistic rather than optimistic music.
Maybe you'd be better off on a Nirvana or Rage Against The Machine board if that's your view

Maybe you'd be better off with Atomic Kitten or S Club 7

S Club 7 or Atomic Kitten?? No, don't think so!!! I just think that if people are fed up with the good-time optimistic vibe that comes with a Jovi album (which I guess is pretty much what everyone knows they're getting) then why carry on listening to it and carry on bitching and being generally negative about the band

Because I personally think there´s still hope for the better. I like meaningful lyrics and beautiful melodies (Dry County is a perfect example). I like the 80´s style. I like the 00´s style but not as much as the other styles. That´s why I hope they´d go back to socially conceous albums.

I agree to an extent with this point.I don't mind the message they've sent out for so many years. However, they did such a great job making These Days a 'real' album, I wish they'd do it again, the songs just seem to carry more meaning somehow...

I could hardly call the likes of Lie to Me, Letting You Go, and Diamond Ring rock songs.

The album is dominated with songs about messy/dead relationships. One or two songs like that is OK, but half an album? No.

it's probably the only album that's not like this
I think both NJ and KTF have a wider range of subject matter than These Days.

Nobody said that they were.
