I think it's very different what you like to listen to at home than what you like to hear at a concert. These Days is my favourite album ever, but I di admit that playing more than a couple of songs from that album at a concert would kill the atmosphere. BJ concerts are for jumping, screaming and having fun, hence the need to play more party-like songs.

I understand why they don't usually play them. And I'm happy since they played These Days last May in Madrid

You were there? Amazing wasn't it? Have you downloaded the show? I also got a video from the jersey syndicate, it's a bit wobbly but you can make out stuff. I've got them if you're interested! :P

I downloaded part of the show, but never really found These days which is the one I really wanted, especially for the bit the changed like "his momma said you are loco". Anyway, my stupid computer is letting me do less and less things everyday so I can hardly ever download anything anymore.

But thanks for the kind offer all the same!

I don't think it's quite that simple. Maybe it's not Jon. He is the easiest traget because his mistakes are the most noticeable. They do play Always. They just don't play songs that they don't play.

Maybe the whole band is not capable of delivering good performances for many songs off TD (and many other songs) anymore.

And no wonder. To deliver good performances, the band should rehearse a lot. And by their own admission, they don't rehearse much anymore.

No wonder they play the same songs over and over and over. They became lazy. They probably know what the fans want but they don't really care. And why bother if they get paid anyway?

Yeah that was class! If you give me your msn address I'll see what I can do coz I've got TD. The only problem is that I'm not at home at the mo, so I've got no real computer access. Don't worry, I'll see you around some day and I'll get it to you somehow!

As I said, let's wait and see!
First of all, I doubt it will be their last as Jon was just saying in a recent interview that he plans on making music with BJ for years to come. Of course things can change, but nobody has given any indication of this being their last album. Second of all, don't count on the band making another These Days type album. BJ have always been known to go forward in their making of music, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. I can't see them going back, unless they decide to be less pop and more rock. That is about it. Third, there is a reason why they don't play songs from that album. I don't know what the reason is, but there has to be something that they don't like or feel wouldn't suit a concert type atmosphere. The only ones who know the answer are BJ.
I really don't see how trying (miserabley) to make a second Livin on a prayer is considered "going forward". Up until TD they went forward but ever since it's either been pach up/fill in albums such as crush or straight forward rock as bounce. I can't see how this is "going forward". I still think the next album will be a lot more serious (as TD was when it came out) and I'm not looking for another TD, that's impossible, just something to help me keep the faith, something to believe in again...
For you, an album like Crush may have been miserable. For the band, it gave them an entirely new audience with the younger generation. Why? Because they weren't trying to go back and recapture their previous albums. They tried to be in tune with the music of today, and gained a new fan base because of it. You may not like it, but Crush was a success in that respect.

Very often yeah right, i think these two songs haven't been played more than 5 times the last tour.
Just some facts: These Days was played 9 times and Something To Believe In 5 times during the 83 shows of the recent Bounce Tour. In 12 of 83 shows at least one of those two songs was played.
Songs from the These Days album were played 24 times out of 1838 songs during the whole tour:
Damned: twice
Diamond Ring: 8 times
plus the above.
