This is a brief article from Reuters...

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - Rock band Disturbed has nabbed its second consecutive No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 with "Ten Thousand Fists" selling 239,000 units in the week ended September 25.

The group fended off an "Oprah Winfrey Show"-fueled charge from Bon Jovi, as that band's "Have a Nice Day" bowed at No. 2 with the group's best sales week (202,000) since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.


So I guess the inference here is that Bon Jovi couldn't have sold that amount without Oprah. What do you guys think?

I get the impression it was referring more to the media blitz rather than taking a dig at the band. BJ did a lot more in terms of publicity this time around, so I guess that is why the Oprah thing was mentioned.
