What's cheesy lyrics??

If they think the lyrics are cheesy, would they put them on an album then? I don`t think so.

another negative post. There lyrics aint cheesy and it they thought they were they wouldnt be on the album so of course they dont.

According to Merriam Webster it means shabby or cheap. I do not think actually in that context that they do write cheesy lyrics. I think they are heartfelt. Cheesy seems to have come to mean over the top- Bon Jovi do have very emotionally over the top lyrics but to many of us they are also romantic. Sure, they may not have deep meaning and you probably aren't going to sit there and analyze what did they meant to say. That's because the meaning is clear and their lyrics appeal to us regular folks who are living their lives and find their lyrics match our experiences, hopes and dreams. They do not appeal to pointy headed elitist intellectuals who look down on us regular people or music critics who aspire to be pointy headed elitists intellectuals
Going by the dictionary meaning a lot of today's music is cheesy as the lyrics are shabby and cheap both in their meaning and use of language. But I do not consider any song by Bon Jovi to have shabby or cheap lyrics.

I have found some of their lyrics to be on the cheesy side, but I guess we all have what can be as you describe cheesy moments !

But as far as I know, The CRUSH lyrics are changed from the original lyrics.Maybe the originalk lyrics weren't that bad.....yeah right!hahahaha!

Yeah there lyrics are very romantic but not cheesy, thats why alot of people probably say they are a band for the females, i do think thoughtthat there lyrics are abit less rock these days then the old songs, some even think of them as pop which i think is a shame cos i hate pop..

whats your idea of a good Bon Jovi love song krb ? or even a non-bon jovi love song. i think most love songs have a certain degree of cheeseyness

Difficult topic.

IMO there are some songs which have really senseless lyrics, but it's obvious and they're supposed to have senseless lyrics(Raise your hands, Lay your hands on me, Let it rock, 99 in the shade, stuff like this).

Many songs have ,well lets say "light" lyrics. Lyrics which aren't really bad, but also not poetry at all(Come back,Without love, I'd die for you, blame it on the love of r'n'r...many many many more).

Some songs have really,at least IMo , really meaning. Lyrics you can read through and think "well that's good, even if the songs are "just" about love and relationships(Price of Love,Hardest Part,King of the mountain,To the fire,Prayer,Blood on blood,I believe,KTF,Fear,DC,Mother,Ain't a love song,Guitar lies bleeding some more)

I don't mind weak lyrics in Bj songs really. I'm happy when there are good lyrics but Raise your hands is great too. If look for music with deeper lyrics I listen to my Springsteen/litle Steven/Cinderella stuff.

What me really piss off about Bj lyrics are those "I'm-gonna-love-you-till-the-end-of-time"-fairytale ballads(Always(forever Nr.1 in that category),TYFLM,Save the world,AALY,YHMFH,In these arms).
Sorry but I think those are seriously made for female fans only.
there are examples that Bj can make ballads with good lyrics(Silent night,Never say goodbye,Living in Sin,I'll be there for you, Bed of Roses, This ain't a love song,Lie to me,It's hard letting you go, Hearts breaknig even.)
