I agree about Undivided, I still like the song but had it not been for the in your face lyrics It could have been released and been a hit.

Runaway - Ilike the song but iv always thought the lyrics were pretty stupid esp the first verse -"theyre made of lipstick plastic and paint ....." whats that all about??!!

The lyrics to Diamond Ring make me cringe, but i like the music behind it. I LOVE Hey God...great for singing in detention to make the time pass by cos your ****ed up maths teacher ratted on you for songwriting in the middle of an explanation of algebra. but personally, i don't believe in God. If God really existed, why would he have let Westlife make music??

NO OFFENCE INTENDED TO ANYONE BEFORE I GET A LECTURE!

Yes they do. Just like the music. But I think almost everyone knows I hate that song.

I'll give my opinions for the songs previously mentioned.

I got tthe Girl- I think it's kinda cute that he's writing about his daughter. I like to interpret it as writing about all the band members daughters. At first I didn't even know that the song was about Jon's daughter. At least it was subtle unlike the whole FOR DOROTHEA, STEPHANIE ROSE, AND JESSE JAMES business in These Days. Now that was just plain arrogant.

Everyday- The great thing about this song is that it doesn't have to be a Sept 11 song. I interpret it as just moving on from any bad experience you've had. Again, the lyrics are subtle. I wouldn't have known Jon and Richie wrote it with Sept 11 in mind unless they said so.

Undivided- Yeah, this one might not stand the test of time, but the lyrics don't bother me.

Hey G-d- The first time I heard this one, I cringed. I agree that people can get angry and question their belief in G-d, but the profanity was a bit over the top. I prefer the radio edit.

Diamond Ring- Pure cheese. The lyrics are way too simplistic. The hungry/thirsty part sounds especially stupid. It's almost a throwback of I'll be there for you, only this one has no power to it.

Never Say Goodbye- Ah, the sweet highschool memories of getting drunk and losing your virginity. We all can relate, can't we?

The song I think is ruined most by the lyrics is To the Fire. The music is awesome, but the lyrics get repeditive. I don't wanna fall, I don't wanna fall, I don't wanna fall.... OK, OK, so you you don't wanna fall WE GET IT!!!!

for me most songs are the other way round. especially on Crush. The lyrics are really nice the idea of the song is good but the music less good. like I got the girl, I think the lyrics with the 5 year old princess thats sweet it seems right from the heart just like You had me from hello. But the music isn`t as good

I'm amazed that some said Hey, God was ruined by lyrics. IMO, lyrics totally makes this song.

It's great that they are willing to write about people who are very different from them: people who are angry at God, who question God, who blame God - such people exist and they are not bad people. The guys try to talk about them and you don't like it. The only thing you got from the song "I cringed because profanity was over the top". But so is life of the people they sing about. It's extremely over the top. I personally think profanity is very fitting there.

I've always thought Diamond Ring's lyrics made it sound like a nursery rhyme

Undivided, Everyday. I think the whole 9-11 - thing got out of hand. They should've just stick with the positive stuff. Jon growling in Undivided is just sad.
