Default Do you have a problem with critics not liking Bon Jovi?

I don't care if critics like or don't like Bon Jovi. I like the music and that's important. We are millions of fans out there so why the f**k should we care if critics don't like Bon JOvi or if critics say THE RISING is 1000 time better than BOUNCE. BON JOVI forever!

To be honest what the papers and critics etc say doesnt bother me if i like the album which i do lol but what does get on my nerves is when u get a review like the Q mag one of crush in which they put in the garbage bin and didnt even mention one song title just went on about haircuts and didnt mention the album at all! I mean if they dont like it fair enough but some of them have a bigger problem with the band rather than the album.

I agree, it's like the critics have formed an opinion beforehand, so that when they listen to the album it couldn't matter less how good it is...

From a critics point of view, Bon Jovi will always be a hair band from the 80'es and thats a shame, in my humble opinion.

I don't care what anybody else thinks so long as I like the music and the band, which I do. My mates critisize me for liking Bob Dylan and not the silly dance songs like Who Let The Dogs Out, etc. That isn't a song, and Bob Dylan is probably the best lyricist ever. I think so, and the older generation think so, and I'm a freak of soceity I suppose. But so be it. I like what I like and I don't care if it makes me uncool or whatever.

Before I was a fan(I mean before THESE DAYS) I knew Bon Jovi are a great rockband and I really tought Bon Jovi have good critic.ok,i was 14.
As I bought These Days I listented to it and the lyrics were so cool,it seemed they were written by a poet or something....(DON'T YOU KNOW THAT ALL MY HEROES DIE).Then I read some critic and I tought are they stupid?????Now I know they are stupid.
"They have never hold a guitar in their arms but they know what rock n' roll is"JBJ.

I bought than all Bj albums and I loved em all.
As Crush came out I read some critic and guess what? The same fuc*ing ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE said IT'S MY LIFE sounds like a Britney Spears song with talkbox. And they said they miss the old kickass rock n' roll like YOU GIVE LOVE A BD NAME.
Than I read some SLIPPERY critic and the fu*kheads said NOT JUST THAT THEY GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME THEY GIVE MUSIC A BAD NAME.

What can expect from critics? They suck....all of them ,whether they like or dislike BJ .

I really wouldn't worry about it buddy. As long as you like Bon Jovi then there's nothing to worry about. There are more fans than critics of Bon Jovi.

Yeah well I don't mind if a critic doesn't like a song or an album but when they have such strong prejudices against the band, that's where it goes wrong. Other bands, such as Def Leppard, are also victims of this treatment. There was a review in this Finnish paper "NYT" and the review mentioned one song (obviously the single Now, which is like one of the worst songs on the album imho). The rest of the review was just blabbering about how Def Leppard can't ever produce an album like Hysteria. Bounce will probably get a similar review...

Those people shouldn't even review albums. Also, there was this "Levyraati" show on TV last night. They show videos and then 4 guys in the studio rate them and talk about them. Well guess what? Bon Jovi got 1-7-2-8. Only one f*cken point out of ten? Eh. Only positive thing was that this old and respected rock dude gave them an 8, but these younger (20-25 I guess) two gave 1 and 2. I was like, uh? Basically they criticised the video (of Everyday), not the song itself. Bah bah bah! Idiots.

Oh, and they seemed to think that JBJ == BJ. Bah that, too.
