However, they are much better than anything Jon and Richie are doing apart...

"Do you miss them?" I like the title of this thread. You don't even have to ask who "them" refers to. You just know.

It's interesting how some ppl have responded as if the question was, "Do you miss Richie?" which, in itself, says a lot when you think about it. But it's not the same question at all. I could answer that one easily. The words literally pour out. You bet I do! Yep, it'll never be Bon Jovi, except in name only, without him. Absolutely, because while I think that Jon is, without a doubt, the brains of the band, Tico is the heartbeat, and David is the smile. But Richie was the soul. So yeah, I miss Richie.

But that wasn't the question, was it?

"Do you miss them?" I don't know about the rest of the ppl who responded, but even as I read the question a collage of images flooded my brain. Richie leaning over to Jennifer Nettles' mic and looking at Jon with that big grin and saying, "Man, you've been doin' that to me for years!", Jon kowtowing while Richie played a solo, the two of them sharing the mic on "Ride, Cowboy, Ride", the chant contest at some show where they each tried to get 'his side' to chant louder than the other (even though I can't remember the song); the two of them standing shoulder to shoulder, or back to back; Richie standing in front of Jon and leaning back against Jon's shoulder while he played, eyes closed and lost in the music; their linked hands raised high as they stood side by side for the closing bows, and, of course, WDOA: the 2-guitar salute; Jon, on one of the rare occasions I've seen him look truly happy since Richie left - falling to his knees and laughing so hard when Marco, the little kid he'd called up on stage, held up the mic stand and pointed it out into the crowd for them to sing along, and I realized in that moment just how much Jon missed it - having his wingman at his side; and then most recently, Richie turning the mic over to Ori to sing the lead on the 2nd verse so he could do his trademark harmonies, and you could tell how much he missed it - being the wingman at Jon's side. So, Luce, I wouldn't be so sure about that "surely not theirs".

"Do you miss them?" More than I can say.

I wouldn't say I have never missed Richie since he left, because I have, but I watched the Times Square show the other week and that was the first time since he left where I have missed seeing them as a band again.

JBJ & Richie didn't interact THAT much that night but you could see a spark from the band. They all loved being there and they played new music and seemed to be enjoying it and I don't feel we get that anymore.

I have seen almost as many BJ shows without Richie than with. (4 with, 3 without) and a few times during each show, I did miss seeing Richie up there. 'Wanted Dead Or Alive' will never be the same without him. It well and truly won't. His backing vocals, the guitar, everything about it.

What I will say is, I will judge well and truly once we hear the new album and tour. I love 'Burning Bridges' and not for one minute did I miss Richie on that album because I do really like the guitar. It maybe could do with a bit more backing vocals from time to time but apart from that, I do really like it. It'll be interesting to see how this album sounds.

Tour wise, I think Jon will miss Richie more than any of us. He needs that extra protection vocally. David done a good job in 2013 but JBJ does need Richie for a lot of songs.

Let's see what 2016/2017 has to bring for the band.

Sorry?

But, yeah, it does. Again, more than I can say... And a lot more that it should. At my age, I should know better.

I think I love you! I've been trying to remember what it was for years! It's downright annoying for such a strong happy memory to be so vague!

Thank you!!

(Now if somebody would help me get Bon Jovi and Big &Rich to stop singing the opening lines from Born Again in my head...)

"Did you miss me, well I ain’t been gone
I been making little babies, I been writing big songs
Come and kiss me, yeah it’s been too long
Since we tore a town down like King Kong..."

Can't help you to get the lines out of your head, but if you ever have any more troubles remembering something from the band's live history feel free to ask

Seems to be the general perception, but I really couldn't tell ya. Why do you ask? Was it something I said?
