Do you reckon Jon could still sing "oh livin' on a prayer" in the chorus?

Default Do you reckon Jon could still sing "oh livin' on a prayer" in the chorus?

Hello.

I am new to this forum but I am a very avid Bon Jovi fan. I have all of their albums (even GH2) and I have seen them countless times.

Livin' on a Prayer is probably my favourite song and I always sing along with the band when they perform it at concerts.

Anyway, do you reckon that Jon is still capable of singing the whole chorus of LOAP, but to preserve his vocal abilities, chooses not to?

What do you reckon? And in which year did Jon start getting the audience to sing that part of the chorus by the way?

He can't, it's impossible for him now.

It started in 1987.

Best regards,

he has been letting the crowd do the chorus since 1987, the only video i have seen jon sing the chorus was the tube 86. So it is impossible for him or anyone to sing that chorus, properly.

I'd like to hear him try, even if his voice gives out.

He tried to do it in 1993 once, to no avail. I think he could. I don't think it's impossible. It's not higher than parts of songs like IBTFY, Dry County, and These Days, which he has sung very well this tour. It's kinda become an ingrained part of the song now, but it would be nice to see him try.

He could probably do it, but not even attempting it for nearly 20 years is going to make it almost impossible.

His voice and range was pretty awesome in the early 90s. Im guessing he could have then.

Now I don't know, these are the kind of questions nobody asks in interviews As others have said would be great to hear him try

twinfan? Is there a video of the 93 attempt you speak of.

It may be a hard lyric to hit a high note with.

He did it in some Prayer performances in 1993 and 1995, but not in the last choruses after the solo.

Yes and no. It would depend on the day, because the highest note in the chorus is the same as in the extra "living on a prayer"-part that ends the second chorus. Sometimes Jon nails that decently, most times he looks like he's gonna explode.
After the keychange? No way.
