Young Guns might've been a big succes in the US, here in Europe it wasn't a big succes, just a succes. Blaze also wasn't a top 10 hit here in Holland.

In the US with YG he had a #1 record. Grammy and Oscar nominations and won a Golden Globe. That's pretty much as big as it gets.

Yeh I know, in Holland Blaze reached 19, and in the UK it reached 13.

I think BoG is a good song. Good lyrics, great singing, Jeff Beck's guitar work is truely great (it has very clean sound). I understand why it was awarded so much.

I wouldn't say so. It's fitting to the lyrics and to the western theme of the record (that's very important). And as I said it's got a clean sound (something that was missing from Richie's guitar work in the 80s).

richie's never been one to drown his playing in effects and distortion so i don't see your argument.

if you see some other beck work you will see that what he did, or should i rephrase, was allowed to do, on blaze, was poor.

It's not a matter of showing what an outstanding guitar player you are. His guitar work had definite purpose. The song was meant to crush pop-rock market and radio and it did just that. And it fitted the theme of the record perfectly. So, it was great.

it sold well because of jon bon jovi. if jeff would have been ripping it up all over the album, it'd have sold well.

the fact is, a bit of sub-standard slide playing with no direction doesn't constitute a decent contribution to an album.
