The impression I get is that Richie wasn't too bothered about being in Kiss at all, hence he didn't bother learning any of the songs, because he knew himself that he wouldn't fit in. It was more of an opportunity to make even more contacts, spend some time in LA where he could shop around different record companies, and as he said himself, 'enjoy a weekend bender courtesy of Gene Simmons' so the last laugh truly was on Richie on that one. Nobody would have turned down the opportunity, plus he did say that Gene had offered him what was quite a substantial amount of money for him at that time; he said he was young and getting a phone call like that with the opportunity to earn good money would have been enough for him to put on the make-up! LOL!! Thank God he didn't do it though...

Oh there's an image. Yes i agree THANK GOD that didn't happen

I am not a big KISS fan .. they have a few songs I like but to me they are all about image.. my bro saw them live and thought they were great though...

side note I believe that Jon and Richie's buddy Desmon Child wrote I was made for loving you... i KNOW he wrote a couple of KISS songs and I think that is one of them

"Buddy"? Desmond is a professional songwriter. I wouldn't bet any money that they are buddies, I actually think Jon doesn't want Desmond to get too much space on the records. Just look at HAND - how many Desmond songs were pulled off? Jon even didn't like Prayer in the beginning.

I Was Made For Loving You was written by Desmond Child, Vini Poncia and Paul Stanley.

I know that DC is a professional songwriter. Sorry but i still think that they are friends. I am pretty sure Desmond is on a few of the BJTV clips on BJ.com from 2003 and just because there are no songs co-written by DC on HAND does not mean they are not friends anymore. Jon and Richie write with other people nowadays. I have never heard Jon say that he has isssues with Desmond. I know that in the Billboard magazine with BJ on the cover commemmorating 100,000,000 Fans Can't Be Wrong Desmond put out a HUGE one page ad congratulating the guys calling them "My Brothers"
