I think it's an age thing. The early stuff was pretty much the soundtrack to my teenage years but I haven't really connected with the last couple of CDs. But my sons are 15 and 12 and have become big Bon Jovi fans (I didn't push them, they found them by themselves).

We're going to the gig in Dublin next June and their excitement about it brings me right back to what it was like the first time I saw them in 1988. They feel the same way about the new CDs as I did about Slippery When Wet and New Jersey. I took a break from Bon Jovi after Have a Nice Day and now I feel like I'm listening to them again with fresh ears.

I agree they should take a break after this tour but I'm very glad to be able to share this one with my sons. I'm passing the torch to the next generation of fans

I'm starting to get bored, although that could be from that listening to all the songs over and over for the last 18 months...

The new songs are boring, obviously written just so they could say they'd written a few new songs. I'll still see them but after that, it might be good for a break, then one final album and a tour - to go out with a bang.

Am I bored with listening to the songs? Yes
Am I bored with every word coming out of HRH Jon's (sarcams) mouth? 80% yes
Am I bored with seeing them live? Hell NO. I've seen them 16 times just this year and would go see them again tomorrow given the option.
I'd love to see them live every year but realize that is not possbile for reasons stated many times by others. The break coming after 2011 is both terrifying and exciting to me.

No. I've only been listening more intensively to them since HAND and wasn't a real diehard fan since early 2007. I got a bit bored by their stuff in the LH era, but not really afterwards. TC was an album I could really relate to and that meant something to me. Maybe it's because I don't give a damn about what Jon says in interviews or how often he smiles during a promotion appearance. It just doesn't bother me. All that interests me is the music and as long I can connect to them that way I don't get bored. As much as others read and watch interviews I listen to live recordings of them and play the sh** out of them. And I have a great time doing that.

They accompanied me in a very special period of my life and I know that it will change for me next year and that also might be the time where (if they really go for a break which - I agree - they should) I'll find a new group/artist to relate to then. Therefore I decided to visit all 4 concerts in my country next summer. Not in the pit, I won't pay the double ticket prices just to smell Jon's fart. I saw 75% of my Jovi shows from the infield and I always had a great time and I'm sure I will have it again next summer. If this will be the time where I'll find something different to grab me I want to make sure I'll end it with a bang.
The moment I'll get bored of what they're doing I just won't listen to that stuff anymore. But still then I know I will have songs which took a special place in my heart and my memories and that will last. And for those memories I will probably be forever thankful to these guys!

No, I'm not.

I listen to other music, I don't see them nine times a tour and complain even though I enjoyed it, and I like their new stuff, while knowing it's not as good as 80s/90s material.

The New Jersey album came on my ipod the other day and I was just skipping almost every song. But then I put on a live show and enjoyed every song on there. I just think I'm kinda burnt out on the recorded material, but value and enjoy their live performances....

said it before and ill say it again.........if you were around or into the band when they released SWW , NJ, KTF & TD - then everything else has been dissapointing (album wise) so far.

Regarding live shows - I love seeing them live but Id love some early stuff from first 2 albums. I know it wont happen but I hate the way they shy away from it. I love the first 2 albums - anything from after TD cant touch it musically and lyrically.

There are a number of us here that fit that profile of having been around when those albums were released who loved The Circle every bit as much as those albums. In fact, one year later I'm feeling it all over again.

It just isn't that simple.
