Does it bother you?

I wos just wondering wot people think about hugh basically being ignored.. hes not on any album covers or pics and just noone seem 2 even care about him! dont anyone feel sorry for him? i think people forget that he is apart of bon jovi, just cos he aint the lead singer or guitarist hes still apart! why isnt he ever on alb covers? do u think its his choice, just curious on ur opinions..

It doesn't bother me because he's not an official member of the band. He knew that was the band's stand when he took the job. I've seen some interviews with him and he seems content. It's like any other job, if he wasn't happy, he could leave. He's a well-known, well respected man in the industry who has worked with a zillion acts other than Bon Jovi. He's not limited or being held back because he's not on a CD cover.

Bon Jovi is not the only band for that he works. If he had to make photo shoots and stuff he would have even less time for his real job as a studio musician. He even said recently that he gets less offers since he works for BJ because other musicians think he wouldn't have any time left and that this is a pity.

I sometimes wonder why Jon didn't ask Hugh to play bass back when he formed the band, since he already knew him from Runaway. Jon has mentioned many times how Hugh is a more superior bass player than Al ever was.

Who knows, maybe Jon had asked Hugh and he wasn't interested way back then.

I think Jon asked Alec out of friendship--they knew each other from the club circuits. Dave was the 1st member to join the band, but Alec was 2nd. It was Alec who called Tico and asked Tico to meet with Jon and it was Alec who called Richie and told him to come check out the band because they were looking for someone other than Dave Sabo to be a permanent guitarist. Alec is key to introducing Jon and Richie and he can be thanked for bringing together one of the most amazing duos in rock history.

Thanks Becky. Pretty weird when you think about it. If it were not for Al, the band Bon Jovi may have been very short lived. Probably one of the reasons Jon is adamant that Alec not be replaced.

I didn't realise that either! Wow,thanks for the info! Clearly Alec's role in the whole creation of the band was of vital importance! Perhaps this is a part of the reason for why he'll never be 'officially' replaced?!
You know, as much as I would like Hugh to be an official member of the band, just cuz he's sooo darn awesome, he seems to be quite content to not be...And he doesn't seem to be lacking for attention either...he got completely MOBBED at Borgata!

he doesnt do phorto shoots cos cliched as it is he is a busy man whereas the rest of the guys have the band as their job he's got tonnes of other work to be doing and appearing on posters and covers isnt reall ynecesarry./

the fact that hes been a studio muso for decades means u can pretty much guarantee he knows and respects his position in the band and what he has to do. no place for egos when ur paid staff.

he doesn`t work for others anymore. He said that on his side, he can`t cause every one thinks he`s working for BJ only

I think he should be on posters and that stuff he`s great! they just don`t wanna share the money
