You're absolutely right, but I think its one of the more important of all fangroups and they're opinion on things a band does is more "qualified" because they simoly "know the band better" than the average fan does.

So it's OK to piss off the fans that have been there since the beginning as long as new ones that may not stick around long are happy?!
I don't think thats a very good policy IMO.

True, but sometimes their opinions are clouded.
Like, die-hards would be ecstatic for a concert of album tracks, but that doesn't mean Jovi should do shows like that.
Nor is it fair (despite what some people here think-LOL) to discount non-die hard fans.

I dont care what he says before the songs. I just wish he was in 95' form as far as improvising DURRING songs. Nothing durring IBTFY, instead durring living in sin we got "going to the chapel". What happened to eating all the dirt jon? Why are you not crawling through the driving rain?

Maybe he just got tired of ripping off Springsteens lines?

I agree with you about more improve, but I thought "going to the chapel" fit Living In Sin really well.

Well playing their song and getting off stage sounds its the same as what BJ is doing. Those speeches became part of the songs. He aint talking, he's singing the song.

As cheesy , over the top or goofy some of Jons banter is I have to say it far beats what else I saw at the Jersey shows. All of those artists could do with some performance/ audience engaging lessons from Jon.
Big and Rich did the best job performance wise, and were the most engaging of the openers. Gretchen Wilson has an amazing voice, the country girl can nail Barracuda, not the easiest thing to do , but performance wise nothing.

Daughtry, with his eyes closed Scott Stapp posing and his forced and faked minimal attempt at talking to the crowd was nauseating and BORING.

The all american Rejects frontman has the gift of gab but needs to stop being afraid to put down his guitar and step out in front of his mike and perform.

My point is, as annoying as some of you find some of Jons banter, watch a performer that doesn't have his skills then watch him, it makes you realize how much he adds to a show and how good he really is at what he does.

Did he think of anything new since 97? Or he is lazy as usual again?
