Here's mine, with the old KTF sticker...
I see. I've never heard about that before - very odd in my opinion. Does that mean VW tried to entice BJ fans into buying their car? I am not a big Golf fan - by any stretch of the imagination - though, I did rent a Turbo Golf - Kombi? once when I was on vacation in Germany - it was ok. :P

I like that KTF sticker. Where is V?

actually almost nobody gives me a hard time about it. i'll be wearing a necklace or a shirt and the most i'll get for it is, "you like bon jovi? that's cool." only 1 friend gives me a hard time- but he's into groups like motorhead, so i don't think anything of it. and he mainly does it just to try to piss me off

I read somewhere that Golf Bon Jovi is the worst name on a car ever.
Well, Golf Rolling stones is not that good either...

Not everyone though. That's usually what I try to do to make people see that we all have our "vices" and / or addictions, and that this all is what makes life worth living, and how it all would be so boring, etc. However, my sister and a friend of mine completely lack a parallel. They like nothing more than anything else. Everything they like they do mildly, and they don't get passionate about anything at all! It gets on my nerves and I get on their nerves whenever I get excited about anything. I think they're very weird

Well, yeah, somehow. It's just one more of all those limited editions. It was sort of cross-promotion. You were also given the TD single when buying one. There were TV spots as well. And the gear changer (?) has the lettering, to.
It was sort of a tradition. There were already Golf II's (the predecessor) with a Genesis lettering.

I am. I did not buy mine first hand though. It was more of a nice coincidence. The current model is Golf V, but Golf III was the best.

Thank you. :P

Where is V?
V is Vogtland, the corner of Saxony that borders to Bavaria and the Czech Republic. The only non-city that got ONE letter... :P

I think it's pretty cool to have your fav bands name on your car - officially.

Very interesting!!! I thought those were reserved for cities only. Like M

Did you by any chance read the book "Generation Golf"? I realize it wasn't your generation, but it is funny as heck and as I see the Golf thing still applies

Yeah, that's why I mentioned they aren't completely. :P
It was only after The Wall though, when they run out of letters. Even this is not completely true: the region was parted in 3 or 4 TWO letter areas, in the 90s it was put together and given the V.

No, I didn't, I know of it though. It's not that bad anymore since a Golf V ain't really a "Volkswagen" anymore... $$$
