Ever heard of Led Zeppelin????? They were pretty much the biggest band in the world in the early/mid 70's, and they only ever released one single! This idea that bands can only function if they have a single or album in the pop charts top 20 is complete rubish..... if this was the case, there would only be about 100 bands in the whole world!

So what you're saying is I should buy all the crap Bon Jovi release, so they can continue to make their millions and that will make them continue to work??????

Mike.........its not 1970 anymore. When Led Zeppelin was big it was a whole other environment in the music industry.

I swear, you guys who are still wet behind the ears keep talking about bands and times that existed before you were even born or old enough to participate while doing your damnest to sound as if you know what you are talking about. The only thing that sets you off from anyone else is you all seem to have an incredible amount of time on your hands to post so f**kin much.

Sales do matter today. Labels are quick to drop even big acts if album sales do not measure up to expectations. Artist development is almost non-existent at major labels as a result of mergers, most of them headed by Executives who view music and artists solely as product to be churned out and tossed to the side when the expected numbers arent hit.

Why is it you are so against steps being taken to boost album sales? Just because you don't like the album, it shouldn't sell? Why are you so against the band making more money? It's your choice whether or not to buy something. Oh so the label must make their decisions around these nut jobs with lack of self control over their buying habits? That's the reasoning you gave previously for it being a rip off.

Additionally, you and the rest of the brats profess to know exactly what is on the DVD and dismiss it as crap product...all without seeing any of the contents.

You don't need to be in the charts to be able to exist. When you've sold nearly 100 million albums and suddenly you only sell 2 milion per album instead of 8, they still won't dump you. Bon Jovi has got a large fanbase and they don't need to make commercial records to be in the charts. These Days was a succes, though not as big as before, but Crush was more commercial and had less succes.
