I dont know about anyone else but i like the Hardest part is the night solo. it just fits the song so well, and its fairly simply to play.
Dry County is just a gun of a solo, it fills something inside me and just gets me fired up!

Technically difficult - ie. requires lots of technique.

Well, IMO, emotion is everything. I have felt this way about music forever and if any of you own the Crush Tour DVD, you'll see that David Bryan also shares this point of view. You can slam as many notes into a bar or play as many pinch harmonics while dive-bombing the trem arm followed by a flurry of triplets and capped of with a little bit of finger-tapping and palm-mutes but that isn't music.......................it's technique and there is a difference.

Example, Steve Vai. He is technically AMAZING but a better musician can play something with 1/100 as many notes in it and convey a more powerful feeling to an audience eg. Richie, which is the essence and true meaning of music.

The Dry County solo may not be technically impressive, and as a fellow guitarist who can play it, I agree with this point. But it COULDN'T be better. It conveys the emotion and power of the song perfectly and is breathtaking nonetheless. It was a carefully planned and flawless piece which should be more recognised as a work of genious that it is. Top work from a top guitarist - nuff said me thinks!
