JON losing his voice?
RICHIE not playing ANYTHING comparable to Keep The Faith stuff or even These Day stuff
TICO adding computers and drum loops and saying they actually work although he was skeptical initially
DAVID becoming INEXITENT live and in studio?

No, no. I mean, since the KTF album they play their music more complex. And there's a lot of musical technique needed for it. But you have to know something about PLAYING music to understand that, not just LISTENING to it. I also play the guitar, and it's much more difficult to play the music of KTF and TD and the later albums.

Does anyone agree?

I disagree. The stuff after These Days is very easy to play.

better and better? geez! they became lazy. sure they might be capable to play helluva more complex stuff, but they choose to stick to simple radio-friendly crap.

I disagree. Anything after These Days is basically just powerchords and two-note solos. No great riffs, no great solos, no great drum parts, no keyboard riffs. Someone with 2 year experience of playing guitar could come up with It's My Life or Hook Me Up.

I taught a friend of mine the Hook Me Up solo when he had been playing guitar for one week.

If you listen to the older records on headphones, you really can hear a lot of stuff going on in the background (eg on I'll Be There For You). If you listen to Bounce, as much as I love the song, you just hear tons of rhythm guitars.

And Teen Spirit was the first song I learned to play - it is one of the most basic tunes ever (as is most of Nevermind). Sometimes basic can be very effective.
