Something Jon calls his "full-time job" is not exactly a hobby.

And no one is telling him NOT to be happy. To me, it's just sad to see someone sort of overcome his dreams like that. He wanted he be a singer "in a long-haired rock'n'roll band". He was, and he got tired and lost passion. He wanted to be an actor and well, whatever. And now he wants a football team. What will be next?

And if he's into Soul so much then why keep on making music. Why not retire altogether than try and keep an impossible balance where you clearly overlook the music part?

huh? Dawn watches the games and she lives in England.

I live in the States, but don't watch football at all.

I don't think geography has much to do with it actually.

No. It's NOT a hobby!! It's more than a full-time job! A hobby is something you do in your spare time, not 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. It's his business, music used to be his business, but it seems music is now his hobby!

I think he has another year to go in order to be eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - that might be an incentive to keep going even if his heart isn't in it. I guess I sound cynical huh

Oh but you may be right! But how sad it would be to retire "just" after that?

You guys read way to much into things and overreact way to easily.
So it's a full time job, it is his passion, someone can have more than one interest you know??
And how do you know his heart isn't in making music anymore??
I don't understand, you guys seem to have a lot of insight into Jon's life and feelings that I don't.

yeah.
You can say that all you want babe, but women don't understand men anymore than men understand women.
I know it, I can prove it, just not right now.
