Jon Bon Jovi Has Cause to Rock
In the aftermath of September 11th, Jon Bon Jovi performed at the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon. Last weekend, he rose to the occasion for Katie Couric’s cancer benefit aboard the Queen Mary II, and Tuesday night, Bon Jovi took the stage again for another special cause.
The superstar helped raise $800,000 for the National Breast Cancer Coalition Tuesday, which is just part of his charity list that includes The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, The Red Cross and the Special Olympics.
"Nobody ever invites me just to come to dinner," Bon Jovi told us. "I always have to work. You get invited to things, and you’ve got to bring your guitar."
In addition to celebrating his 15th anniversary on Thursday, and the birth of his fourth child last month, Bon Jovi is writing songs and starting work on a movie next week. "The one I’m doing is a National Lampoon movie called ‘The Trouble with Frank.’ It's about a guy who starts a female hockey team with a credit card -- and I'm that guy."
