Fast question for Jon/David/Tico/Phil

David Coverdale has been releasing deluxe edition of their best records including unreleased songs and studio recording tapes. Jon should do the same

They have, it hasn't sold.

Only because Jon refused to promote it though. If it's done right it can work very well. Def Leppard's Hysteria re-release too it back in to the top 5 album charts!

I personally believe that Jon wants to forget the past, knowing that it was exactly what made it as famous as he is.

I also think the re-release of New Jersey sold more copies than whatever re-release Whitesnake or other band have come up with.

Then again, Jon's hardly willing to do proper promo for the new stuff, there's no way he'd be plugging old stuff.

From what I understand more re-releases similar to that would follow but it tanked so badly it was cancelled. Thinny is right, it comes down to promotion but it won't sell because they're not the type of band that would do a project like that. So i'm wrong, it could sell if it was a different 80's band probably.

Then again Slippery and NJ are the two monster one worldwide I could see it working for. KTF and TD would do decent outside of North America probably but I've always said skip the physical release, do it digital. Make a package where you can pay and get, say, 5 unreleased songs every month or something. It'll never sell in stores on it's own.

Here in Japan, where we moved to... Those special editions of WS records are not for physical sale, they are virtual only, and they also have the Flesh and Blood Record on cd, LP and so on, they could release virtual material and making new records at the same time.

Coudl you answer it if you know the answer? I think that answers could change after these few years..
