I have to agree. In These Arms has a very cool bass line, despite the fact not being a bass-heavy song like KTF.

I think you may be right on this. I remember reading somewhere (can't remember where!!) that Hugh was the studio bass player from the beginning and that Alec only did the live stuff. Well, if you read the thank yous on all the albums Hugh McDonald was thanked on all (including KTF) - so that may be true.

Anyone else got thoughts on this one?

listen to the whole BJ discography, you'll hear that KTP is really basically bass oriented somewhere, even with outtake like Drive. I don't know if it was something intentional, but it's the only BJ record where bass is so here!
