Default Favorite cover performed by BJ

Hey all!

This has probably been done before, if so it probably needs a little update . It’s been fairly quiet here these past few months, so fellow jovis, what’s your favorite cover song performed by Bon Jovi? I’d like to say only 1 song, no top 3s etc. but we all know that’s impossible to follow when it comes to Bon Jovi haha

Damn this is harder than I thought.. been thinking for 10 mins or so now. I’ll start with right now it got to be “Ride The Night Away” - by Jimmy Barnes in Melbourne 2001. Their duo performance is flawless imo + the vocal dynamics between them is so addicting to listen to.

Overall it got to be either “Have A Little Faith in Me”, “Help” or “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, I’ll go with the latter one by Simon & Garfield. That performance in London in 94 is top notch where both Jon and Richie fires on all cylinders. That vocal duo is like peanut butter and jam. Good alone, but perfect together. This topped with Jon’s 94 clean, controlled vocals, makes this my favorite!

What’s yours?

I'm not sure if it is my favourite but I was just listening to The Boys Are Back In Town from the NJ Deluxe album and that is brilliant.

Live Won't Back Down into Have a Nice Day was great.

Jon and Richie harmonizing Can't Help Falling In Love With You is a close close close second place.

Difficult question, so I’m only gonna consider full band performances here to make it at least slightly easier for myself

The strongest contenders for me are probably With A Little Help From My Friends and Drift Away. If I had to pick only one of the two I would probably pick With A Little Help. The way the band took a cover version of a song, that already takes the original song to a whole new level (I’m a huge Beatles fan, but I really prefer this particular song in the Joe Cocker arrangement), and somehow managed to take that version to an even higher level is just brilliant. Plus they all really got to shine when they performed that song in the 90s.

Hallelujah was and still is my all time favorite cover by BJ. Nothing can ever top that.
BABIT comes second. I heard it live back in 1988, it was the first time I saw the band live.
Honorable mention goes to Oh Pretty Woman. Jon and Bobby singing the bridge / middle part gives me goosebumps.

Always had a soft spot for You Keep Me Hanging On. So passionate. But literally every cover between the late 80s and mid 90s was amazing. The worst would be easier to pick.
