Great post.I agree with everything you have said.
Especially jon. He's just an arrogant twat at the moment.
He hasn't found a cure for cancer,he's just writing good rock songs. That doesn't make him above anybody or that doesn't mean he should slug us all this much money to come and see him and his "band".
It is a blatant rip off and he has totally lost track of reality. He's becoming gene simmons and if that's the way he's going to operate well then stuff him.
The problem is,that people will stay pay top dollar to see this band. While they do that,Jbj will definitely raise the price of tickets for forthcoming tours.
I urge everybody to not pay top dollar and then maybe the band can see what shit they're getting themselves into when they play to half-packed arenas. It happenned to Kiss and i think these guys are next.

Great post, I couldn't agree more a wide range of issues you mentioned.
Alltough I like the new album, I think it could have been a lot better.

As for JBJ, I simply cannot believe what I am seeing lately. Has the guy got any passion left for his music or is he as bored by it as he seems when performing on stage these days?

A few days ago there was an excellent thread on this board asking where the guy, that performed that amazing Version of Hey God at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Paris in 1996, had gone. In response, there were a few performances from recent years to proove that he is still there...every now and again. Having attended the Amsterdam Show in 2008, I know that Jon still has it in him. He litterally went mad on stage with Saturday Night and Keep the Faith being perfect examples for that. But why is it that he only shares that passion so very rarely these days? I have recently been watching many youtube clips from the 1988-1996 period as well as from the 2000-onwards. It is absolutely scary to observe the decrease in passion and effort put into recent perfrormances.
LH Tour from the European leg onwards was great but there is just so many occasions to contrast those great performances.

As for Jon and the band having lost touch with reality, I partially agree. I don't wish for the band to do badly in terms of record and ticket sales. However, it seems that the band need a wake-up call right now. So hopefully the relateively low record sales and potentially bad ticket sales for that O2-residency will bring them back to their senses. I thought that had already happened when they played the European and Japanese legs of the LH tour to half-empty stadiums but it seems I was completely wrong as ticket prices have gone up.

Either way, it definetly is time for a change!

True. Maybe is because they should have stopped a bit and make a better album now instead of LH for example. Anyway I like a lot TC.

What I'm feeling while reading the post around here is that Bon Jovi is tired. In the WWWB documentary, he says he is tired a lot of times. But, I suppose that happened before and there was no problem.

And then, if he is tired, why is he preparing a 2 years world tour??
I don't like that kind of loooooong tours. I prefer better albums. And that prices are too high, plus this era we are living is about financial crisis.

If the band makes a two years tour, what's next? Jon will be 50 more or less, and the other ones more than that.

Totally agree with everything that's already been said.

After this tour, I Think the band should take a bit of a break, and hopefully JBJ will realise/take action on what's going on. There's only so much that the fans- both die hards and casual fans- are willing to put up with, and in my opinion another tour playing to half-empty venues with extortionate prices and another so-so album would be the nail in the coffin for the band. And maybe over the course of the break, Jon would find his passion for music again- or maybe somebody could give him a good ol' kick up the arse

this post raised some valid points.

i wonder what richie thinks about the whole situation? from the outside i get the impression sambora is a true musician who actually has time for the fans etc. i get the impression he'd love to be a little more virtuoso on records and offer a little more originality, but of course would never dream of raising the issue with jb.

I have to agree with the RICHIE comment, Its very very apparent to me that richie is a changed man an the outside, his heart doesnt seem to be in it at the moment, RICHIE in my opinion isnt in it for the money, he is a muso and a sincere one at that!!!!, he wants to play to the people and write songs for the people. The post is a very relevent one as after watching the WWWB doc i really felt dismayed, in my eyes it portrayed JBJ as a business man who is out there to reap the cash, I have been loyal to the Bon Jovi brand for 25 years now, as so many of you guys on here have and spent thousands on following them, but the faith is starting to fade due over-inflated ticket prices and JBJ's cash collecting.......You only have to take a look at the official merchandise on the website!!!! who the F##K wants BON JOVI dog coats or BON JOVI wine, if they thought it would sell im sure theyd but a BON JOVI logo on a DOG TURD and try to sell it......I only hope that CEO JBJ wakes up soon and sees what image he is portraying to his fan base. My guess is people in the "circle" know this but as has been posted before, nobody is going to dare to tell him!!!!

I think it's a shame that nobody close to Jon has the guts to tell him how it is!
Didn't he once claim that he doesn't have any sychophants in his organization?

I'm not sure that no one dares to stand up to him as much as they have all been inside the circle so long that there is a bit of "tunnel vision" going on.
The Hotel business has a theory that it is necessary to move General manangers and management teams from one property to another every 3 to 5 years because they get soooo accustomed to their surroundings , that they stop seeing little flaws, ie chipped door paint, dingy carpets, shoddily cut grass etc.... tunnel vision.

It probably wouldn't hurt to have a person or two from outside the circle advising Jon as well.

I agree with most everything being said here on this topic. I think Jon really isnt in for the music anymore but all that goes with being a icon. He is everywhere this decade, morning shows, radio interviews and never out of public eye. He uses the brand BON JOVI to keep his icon status alive. CEO Jon has destroyed the Bon Jovi of old. Its so money driven that he cookie cutters his music with producers like John Shanks, who is a pop producer which isnt what fans want. The Albums from Crush to now are about 3-4 good tracks and mostly filler. I love the band dont get me wrong but some of the last decades changes from the past is pretty drastic.
