Well, I got Cross Road after hearing Bed of Roses. But it wasn't until Have A Nice Day that I went out and bought all the albums, which is kind of weird because that's not the type of song that would normally hook me onto a band (otherwise I would have become a Joviac after It's My Life)

You Give Love A Bad Name and Have A Nice Day.

I liked Prayer and loved It's My Life but I didn''t know they were Bon Jovi songs (hey, I was young) and I didn't know any other Jovi songs until HAND on Top Of The Pops. So I figured HAND was on their second album. I did wonder why it took them from the 80s to the 00's to make an album. So when I decided to check out more songs by this band boy was I in for a shock...

It's My Life and Prayer. I got a tad addicted to IML at the end of 2000 / beginning 2001, and then I heard Prayer a few times, which I'd never really heard before. The combination led to me doing some research and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the same band also did Bad Name and Saturday Night, two songs I remembered standing out from my really young days. Got a friend to burn me a CD with Prayer and Bad Name on them. Then I discovered that Blaze Of Glory existed, from a "Best Film Themes" CD, and got addicted to that too. Finally, I stole One Wild Night from another friend, and the rest, as they say, is history ...

Lay Your Hands on Me - blasting out of my son's bedroom LOUD in 1989. I stuck my head in his door and said - I like that - what else do you have from them? By 1990 Bruce had pretty much quit touring - his band had been my passion forever by then and I guess I needed a new band that actually toured and played live. It was a coincidence that they were another local band.

I should add that this same son who is now almost 30, has come to at least 1 show per tour with us ever since then. He's still a fan.

That is such a cool story. My parents don't get my Bon Jovi thing at all.

Always, saw them playing it on the Beat Box one Sunday morning live at Niagra Falls. It was great, don't even think they sang it live looking back on youtube. Doesn't compare to Wembley, Live at London, best live performance I've seen.

Now don't laugh . . . the much maligned WSYCGH with Jennifer Nettles is why I'm here. I was still listening to country music when that song started getting airplay. Obviously I knew who Bon Jovi was, but I probably only knew Prayer, Wanted & IML at that time. I didn't buy HAND, but I got Lost Highway a week after it was released. It's as if I've been in a BJ immersion program ever since!
